Default [PFM Help] Adjusting Supply and Population Systems

    Hi all,

I know everyone starts their threads like this, but I do just want to say thank you to the whole modding team. DEI has quickly become my favourite TW mod of all time.

Now like many, I like playing with 40 unit armies. I've been playing around with a few adjustments and am currently trying to adjust the supply and population systems. Namely, I'd like to adjust the amount of supply some buildings give and the type/amount of population required for recruitment.

I dug around the script files myself a little, but needless to say, they're a little more complicated than the regular db editing in PFM, so I thought it best to ask here for some direction before I go and break the whole mod.

    Thanks!

Changing the manpower drain of a unit is easy, that's in script/_lib/manpower/units.lua. I guess the tricky part is looking up the exact name of the unit you want to change, but the values should be self-explanatory. The first value is the type of population, and the next two values are the number.

I haven't edited the supply system myself, but there was discussion of values for 40 unit armies over on the last page of the Supply System Preview, which is currently on the first page of this board. It sounded like the simplest method would be reducing supply consumption to compensate for more units running around. It's not quite what you were going for, but you'd find that near the top of script/_lib/supply_system/supply_system_values.lua. There should be six sets of values, for player civilized, AI civilized, player barbarian, AI barbarian, player nomad, and AI nomad. Though I'm not sure if those AI values are what drains supplies in a player's regions.
