M.A.E., my impression is this: You see both zsimmortal developing Iranians, Hessam developing Ottomans. However, you see no modder focusing their effort to the Egyptian Sultanate roster. Because you're so desperate for new Egyptian units, you resorted to beg other Islamic factions' units to be inserted into the Ayyubid Roster?

My advice: Stop it. It won't give justice to the Mamluk Sultanate.

If the Mamluk Sultanate gonna be depicted in all of its glory, it will have their own Mamluk units. It won't be some Cuman, Iranian, Turkish unit transplanted under the guise of "Mamluk", its just a sad, unhistorical attempt. I repeat, they would have their own Mamluk unit. And we all, me included, should patiently wait for them.

No, I'm currently working on equipment for T3 units, then I'll probably look at what I can do for the Ghurids, and in any case, I'll be continuing work on the Papal States.

I've already completed quite a few items, like plate and mail armour, bazubands, armoured tunics, the qizilbash tunics and lastly, the metal sipars. Here's an example :

Keep us in touch with progress done so far please! Such a great preview to the perfection... with descriptions and all... maybe the greatest preview so far due to complexity of units including AoR, it has a story and so on... very cinematic... do you plan to add Eastern mercs as well alongside AoR or are the Atabegates the source for AoR while the other regions of "the old world" source for mercs!? Please post progress done for tier 3, it would be great to see progress done, episodically so to speak...

The equipment for T3 is effectively done, I just need a few remaining elements and to make the units. It should be completed and released in the near future.

I'm not sure if Eastern factions will have mercenary companies, it will likely depend on research. I can't say I spent too much time looking for possible mercenaries to add.

In my research I stumbled unto this particular story of a Timurid merc company for late Turkoman Khwarazm

So after quite a few long months, the late era units are now in full production and will start appearing on the original post in the thread. There's already quite a few that I've added and the planned units are all in there for anyone to check. While I plan on essentially updating all units to the late era, I might not do so for either being pointless or to keep some visual variety. All constructive criticism is appreciated.

The new assets look great. Although it is kind of strange to have a tier 3 tribal archers unit. Their clothing is a bit different so this amount of detail is great but how do they will have an effect in gameplay?

Tribesmen were still very present in the late era. The best example is that for the last half of the 15th century, Iran was effectively controlled by 2 tribal confederations of Turkomans (first the Qara Qoyunlu and then the Aq Qoyunlu), followed by a group, the Safavids, whose military greatly depended on zealous tribesmen, the Qizilbash. Even before that, the Timurids also relied heavily on tribal soldiers.

With regards to their impact, they're cheap bowmen, so, useful for being an annoyance and not very expensive. They won't be significantly better than their previous incarnation, but I can't let units get too outdated in terms of visual appearance since one of our goals is accurately representing the medieval era.

Wow i am surprised to see halberd and double-handed axe units. That is great and looks very cool.
I was a bit afraid eastern factions couldn't stand their own against european late weapons and tactics.
Do we get armoured elephants for late area and is there a slight possibility to see elephant gunners?

Well they already get armoured elephants from the high era. Since we haven't really developed new models and textures for elephant armour, it is a tad pointless. Elephant gunners was something I originally planned but dropped until further development. So maybe.

Elephant gunners would give that roaster the extra-bit of indian spice towards the later moghul empires.

The Ghurids will have a bit of elephant diversity, which is why I said until further development. I'll see what I end up doing for the later era there.

I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean specifically. Persia is a Western term. Iran has been used at least since late Antiquity.
