I don't know if you have this.
Ak Qoyonlu troops

Yes, I have a file where I keep miniatures such as these. The Aq Qoyunlu ones will be used for the last tier. But as you can see, the helmet on the left is already present on tier 2 units of turkish origin (with possibly a few exceptions).
As for the Atabegate of Azerbaijan, I don't know if anyone is interested in doing them, like whoever is working on Georgia (since they start as a vassal). Worst case, I'll make a little something like I did for Fars and Lurestan.
I've now updated every unit that gets an update for the high era, with the exception of the Afghan region since that will be dealt with following the Ghurid/Khiljid high era update.
Regarding Azerbaijan, I'll check it out once I'm done with my factions, unless someone wants to give it a shot. My own assets are available for use.
The question would be are they better represented with the Georgians, Kwarezmians or Cuman-Kypchaks?
I guess you know of all of these... just making sure...

Great job dude! Keep up the good work you're already over half way!
I think this is slowly begining to become one of my favourite factions due to the immense amount of work and countless hours spent here, attention to details, research and last but not least passion. Do take Azerbaidjan. You will only do good to their history. They should be glad if you choose them.
I say this especially because the Safavids were of Kurd-Azeri origin so the best option.
I wish this mod was called 1111 AD and not 1212. That would solve many problems, and in my opinion, 12th century Asia Minor is much more interesting and diverse than later ones.
And im in love of the 1212 starting date. The Best Mediaval starting date so far.So much potention for so much more factions in the campaign map and the Diplomacy in 1212 in Asia Minor and the Balkans is all in the theme of Game of Thones:Backstabbing, betrails and each faction fights 2-4 factions at once and forming alliences just to be broken 1-2 years on average after signing them. The Baltics and the rest of Modern Russia - Teutonic order and the Arival of the Mongol/Tatar Hordes wiping of nations both in the Pontic steppe, the Volga region and the Middle east where only Egypt held of the mongols in Palistanie. Also the early 13th Century was the Peak of the Crusader movement and finnaly the Iberian muslims had the last chance to stop Portugal,Castile,Leon,Aragon from conqering Iberia and strike back in 1212.
And what give us 1111ad? less interesting factions,Seljuks coontroling Persia, half of Asia minor and the Balkans/Baltics are boring regions as with the rest of the Eastern Europe. The european factions still use armor and weapons resembling TW:Attila and so on.
hm...
Did you think even for a minute before you started to write the second paragraph? It feels like you call boring something you aren't aware of.
Not At All. They would have almost the same equipment what they had in 13th century.
1) Last time I read if im not Mistaken the 4th Crusade was the last big Crusade from the crusader movement.
2)Ofcorse I did ,just Tell me something interesting that stands out from Eastern Europe and the Middle East that was interesting in this era??
3)I said resemblingnot the same. The shields still were for te most part in Europe close the 4th century in usage and shape and its the same for the Rus factions even in the 13th century.
4th crusade (1202-1204), if it can be called crusade at all, indeed was the last big crusade but not the largest or the most important. They sacked Constantinople and set up Latin Empire. Btw it is out of the game period.
The largest crusade was the third crusade (1189-1192) after the fall of Jerusalem (1187). What do these names tell you: Richard the Lionheart, Philip Augustus, Saladin, Frederick Barbarossa? Is something boring related to these people or completely opposite?
12th century is related with the fall of Seljuk Empire. It is the most interesting period for Caucasus too. It is related with the rise of Georgian Kingdom, wars with Seljuks, Zengids, Arabs(They controlled Tbilisi Until 1125), Adarbadagan. And what we have in 13th century? Georgia is surrounded by allies or vassals from three sides and the only threat is Mongol Horde.
Balkans was boring? check this list written from the standpoint of Byzantine Empire:
- 1110–1117: Renewed war with the Seljuk Turks. Initial Turkish advances are reversed in a treaty concluded after the Byzantine victory at the Battle of Philomelion.
- 1122–1126: War with Venice over the non-renewal of trading privileges by John II Komnenos. The Venetian fleet ravaged the coasts of Greece, forcing the emperor to back down.
- 1127–1129: War with Hungary.
- 1134–1138: Conquest of Armenian Cilicia and vassalization of the Principality of Antioch.
- 1147–1148: Roger II of Sicily attacks and occupies Euboea, Thebes and Corinth
- 1149–1152: Serbian rebellion is subdued by Manuel I Komnenos. Manuel also defeats a Hungarian army that came to aid the Serbs.
- 1155–1156: War with Hungary ends in Byzantine victory.
- 1155–1158: Italian expedition of Manuel I Komnenos. Despite initial success, the expedition fails.
- 1158–1161: Expeditions against the Seljuks
- 1163–1168: War with Hungary. It ends in a Byzantine victory with the Battle of Sirmium, after which the Empire regains most of the Western Balkans.
- 1169: Joint Byzantine-Crusader raid on Damietta fails.
- 1171–1177: War with Venice. Initial Venetian moves in the Aegean checked by the Byzantine fleet. Truce concluded in 1177, peace treaty in 1183.
- 1176–1180: War with the Seljuks. Initial campaign against ends in the defeat at the Battle of Myriokephalon, resulting in the gradual loss of territory in Anatolia.
- 1185: Norman invasion of the Balkans. The Normans take Dyrrhachium and Thessalonica before being defeated.
- 1185: Uprising of Asen and Peter. Reestablishment of the Bulgarian Empire.
Briefly how can 13th century Asia and Eastern Europe be described? - Mongols invade Kwarezm, Mongols invade Persia, Mongols invade Kypchaks, Mongols invade Georgia, Mongols invade Rus, Mongols invade Abbasids, Mongols invade Syria... Is any of these even a little bit more interesting only because there is the word Mongol instead of Seljuk or Khwarezmian?
