    Default ebii 2.2 f question

Hi. I am playing campaign as Macedon faction. My question why my 13 units rout at the begining of assault on Naissos (which is neutral faction)? Is this some bug or what?

Even when I attack any neutral army in the north 13 units out of 17 of my army rout at the beginig of the battle. Why is this happening? It looks like a bug.

I can't diagnose a one-line description. Screenshots? An error log? Some information about what turn it is and so on?

I am playing EB II 2.2f as Macedon faction. It is turn 27, year 266BC. I am attacking rebel town Naissos. I have army of 17 units and my general is Antigonos Gonatas (faction leader). When I press "Start battle" 13 units go rout immeadiately. The general Antigonos Gonatas is ok no rout there. I tried to do print screen, but I only get black screen. Sorry. When I attacked Naissos at turn 30 with general Demetrios Antigonides (FM), which was the only general in my army, the battle went normal. None of my units rout, everthing was normal. I check traits Antigonos Gonatas, but there is no trait that I could associate with routing units.

You get a black screen because you can't convert screenshots directly that way. You need to convert the .tga file which appears in your [M2TW]\tgas\ folder, all PrtScn presses create a file there.

I need an error log produced after a battle where you see the routing behaviour, a description isn't enough to diagnose the problem.

Here is eb.system.log after I attacked Naissos. I sent complete file because I dont know where to look for this error. Some pic at the beggining of my attack, where units start routing. I hope this will help.

The team is genuinely stumped by this one. We can't see anything in the logs or anywhere else that would explain why this is happening.

Thanks anyway. We can estimate that in time the solution will reveal to us.

I want to make a suggestion/an addition to this issue. This presumed 'bug' also occured to me twice by now, once in a battle breaking the siege of Sparte (Rome(me) against Hayastan), once in a battle for Athen (Rome against the Greeks), EBII 2.2f. First I thought it maybe has to do something with settlements on the greek peninsula.
But I think I found the true reason for this behaviour now. In both my cases, I had a general with very low (if not zero) command and confidence abilities. Additionally, these generals had the "Hates the gods" trait and I think also this religious-related "Sanctuary" trait (?, I don't remember the correct name), which lowers troops morale.

Altogether, I think this issue is simply a matter of generals with low command and confidence abilities plus traits that lower the army's morale, thus resulting in a negative (or zero) morale of one's troops. The fact that sometimes not all the troops rout at the beginning of a battle is surely reasoned by different morale values due to troop type, temple bonuses etc.

So I think it's not a bug, you simply have to watch your generals, not sending the ones into battle who are unfit to lead an army due to their traits and abilities. I also think this matter contributes to the atmosphere of EBII - for who wants to follow a cowardly, uninspiring general into battle!
