Question regarding building chains & buildings

Hey folks I just wondered if anyone could just clarify something for me. I am currently looking at the below implementation for my mod:

SuperchainX -> New Dwarf chain -> Dwarf building level.
SuperchainX -> New Greenskin chain -> greenskin building level.


I was wondering if I could instead do the following (by specifying faction in the culture variants table)

SuperchainX -> New building chain Y -> dwarf building level.
SuperchainX -> New building chain Y -> greenskin building level.

Hoping the above is possible, it could drastically reduce my edits and thus make support FAR easier

Hmm - in addition, is it possible for a building chain to be a member of multiple superchains?
