Default Where are all the Muslim factions?

Custom battle, I go to select a faction... and I see there are about 20 factions listed - but only two of them are Muslim. What the hell? Where are all the Muslim factions? I get a choice of either Ayyubids or Seljuks of Rum... and that's it?

To make matters worse, the Seljuks of Rum have a weak unit roster that lacks heavy infantry, and even their melee cavalry are hopelessly outclassed. They don't stand a chance against the Empire of Nicaea, nor other factions such as Hungary.

Where are all the Persian factions? And where are the Almohads/Almoravids?

I mainly want to play Muslim factions fighting battles in Anatolia, Persia, Mesopotamia, Syria and Egypt. How can I do that when there are only two factions, and only one of those is properly fleshed out?

I'd just like to know, is there going to be a release that adds the missing factions? I appreciate this is a voluntary project and you guys aren't getting paid, so we should be grateful for anything we can get. (and of course I do appreciate it - I'm posting because I care). But seriously, like 20 Christian factions and only two Muslim ones? Please tell me this is going to be addressed...

Have you even looked around in the forum? And that was a rhetorical question. Of course you haven't. Because if you had, you would have known that almost all the factions you mentioned have research threads of their own and even some screenshots of their development, which means they are being worked on. The full roster of the Khwarezmids, for one, will be in the next update.

Unless there is a more recent version I don't know about? I have the Steam version of the game and subscribed to the MKTW files in the Steam Workshop...

Hey bigdaddy, we're all working really hard on the mod at the moment. Me, along with a few other modders, are currently working on both creating some Muslim factions that are not in the mod (like the Almohads, the Abbasids, the Khwarazmids, etc.) and fleshing out those that are already in there, but only have tier 1 units (Rum and Ayyubids). The Golden Horde and Ilkhans are already finished and will be in the next patch. So don't worry, they're all coming.

Thanks for the update, hessam and zsimmortal.

I'll admit I didn't have much time to look around (am at work) but it's nice to know it's being worked on. I didn't know there were still factions in development. Good luck with the project - and thank you

They are adressing it and they are doing an awesome job at it and they are taking more seriously than I thought.

Since we are at it, I just want to mention smething I noticed. The current historical accuracy of these units do owe a lot to collective works of modders in various gaming communities like total war and mount and blade(1257 Ad comes to my mind). I thnk we should all appreciate these material that came out in the last few years. And modders managed to somewhat standardize the historical accuracy despite the game developers not putting enough efforts into it.
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

I'll have to correct you on one thing dogukan: we do use several of the assets of the nice M&B osp community and beyond in an edited form but we don't use anything from 1257.
    Just wanted to clarify.

Little rant: We (central asians) really hate when middle east labels khwarazmids, golden horde, timurids or other TURKIC factions "muslim" factions. ffs they were not muslim, they were turkic states.

if you are looking for muslim factions. here is the list: rashidun, fatimid, umayyad, abbasid and samanid. Everything turkic is turkic people.

Oh no, not another one!!! Since the thread's main concern has been properly addressed, I suggest @warman close it to prevent another flame war.

I agree with hessam. My question has been answered (thanks guys!)

I don't mind if you want to close it, for me at least it served its purpose. Thanks again to the MTW Kingdoms mod team, I am glad that you guys are here helping to realise that dream of an Attila game based in the Medieval times.
