Medieval Shell bugged/Campaigns won't load

Having a problem where I cannot load any campaign for Med 2 or its mods as it loads and then flashes to the campaign map for a second where the command console is activated before flashing back to repeat the loading process over and over again. I tried to play a custom battle and it did load but the command console keeps appearing of its own accord and its completely bugged. Not sure what to do. Think it may be something to do withe keyboard function or something. The HDD I'm using was previously used on a different laptop and I'm thinking there's probably some change I can do in a folder to make things better but I don't know what. Can anyone help?

I reckon this is the same issue as discussed on Steam?

Is this a clean installation or do you have any mods installed (other then the 4 kingdom campaigns)?
Is the Launch Option field clear? To check right click the game in the steam library, choose 'properties' and then click on the 'set launch options' button

Yes same thing.
Its a clean installation yes with the kingdoms mods and the launch option is clear. I'm really flummoxed. It must have something to do with how my keyboard is set up or something but I really don't know. whenever I play a custom battle it does load but the medieval shell just keeps popping on and off and accelerating the speed to x6.0. Really annoying that I haven't been able to fix this yet.
