So I'm aware that the current Neville is married to Stafford's sister and Stafford is betrothed to Thomas Woodstock's daughter, but are there any other connections to Stafford I should know about?
A quick revision to the list of current office holders: Sir Simon de Burley is right now Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports, not Baron John Devereux.
Any political entities in Ireland open?
FitzGerald of Desmond or FitzGerald of Kildare.
Also, as there is no inactivity thread, my activity will be quite low until Saturday. Canterbury should be treated as a NPC I think.
In this RP how are you working out what person/what family owns what lands?

We've researched who owns what using various websites and how it roughly corresponds to a map of primary landholders in England, which is what we have used as a base. The mods have pretty much filled out the map and what everyone owns, so all that's required is for people to pick up the family and play it, as all their properties and such are listed in the map thread.

I've come down with a cold guys, which is why I've been MIA these last 2 days (and had several days of extremely spotty activity before that). Hoping it goes away real soon, like this Friday or Saturday soon, but until I get better I'll be inactive.
Also yeah, like I pointed out in Discord we're missing an inactivity thread for this game, which is why I'm saying this on the OOC thread![]()
Since Discord is down right now, Caterina...
The earl of Salisbury left a toddler for an heir didn't he? Do you have someone warding him?

1) The royal seals, Great Seal of the King or Key of the Kingdom, were ultimately used only in the most important and simbolic documents, like those addressed to other crowned monarchs, the pope or such instances of power. It could also be used for domestic affairs, albeit only the most solemn occasions. For more simple and private instances the Privy Seal would be employed, like grants of lands or a bussiness that required certain privacy.
2) Such a seal was the peak of silversmith, the designs were very intricate and it took a very skilled crafted a certain amount of time to design and carve. The details into such a seal were plenty, including heraldic devices, the king's likeness, the intitulation around the border or even the carefully engraved drapery on the king's mantle. More so, it had two faces, each with its own design. In England there has been an standarized design: a face shows the king enthroned in majesty and the reverse shows the king armored and mounted, ready to smite his enemies to splinters. Two kinds of majesty: the king as law and order, center of the mystical body of the realm and the king as a warrior, peak of the feudal society whose paramount duty is to defend the kingdom.
Let's take a look to real designs of great seals, that have only survived as the remaining pending seals of surviving documents, which by no means could be compared to the intricacy of the original seal, as these would be only the decayed impression of the original matrix.
-Edward III's seal:
-Richard II's seal:
3) In this case, there aren't such thing as a "forger", the Middle Ages weren't a time of unwashed rudeness or lack of a moral compass. In fact, it was a time of artistic, cultural and economical development. In the XIV century we witness a time of great development of aulic art, that is, the one comissioned by a court, following the canons of the widespread International Gothic, which, aproximately, originated in Germany, specially in the courts of Charles IV and his son Wenceslaus. A style that was adopted by everyone else, including the royal courts of France and England. In such a time of artistic splendor, the seals would be crafted by the best silversmiths in the kingdom, who were part of the royal household, as part of the cadre of specialized artisans and craftsmen, like illuminators, silversmiths, goldsmiths, sculptors, etc... Considering the seals were an artwork, more than a straightforward way to validate documents, they were created by true artists, who worked in unison with other specialists from the court: the illuminators and painters would make the design, following the examples of previous seals, while the silversmiths made the matrix. Such, there wouldn't be an artist outside the royal court capable of doing such a forgery, at least a truly genuine one.

I'm still crippled by Internet shortage, I'll get to you when I can, not avoiding you on purpose. I'm on free WiFi while I'm out doing things atm.
Can someone come get me when this game restarts? I'm not going to try to join mid-game because last time that happened I ended up wasting half the time I was playing trying to chase down inactive or forgotten characters. I miss RPs and as much as I don't like the setting I'll give it a try.
