Campaigns in Med 2 + kingdoms load but don't start.

I have recently opened Med 2 kingdoms (Americas) and it has worked fine, custom battles work, no unexpected bugs but when I load a previously started campaign or start a new one, the loading bar fills completely but just sticks at full until I eventually close it (I've tried leaving it like this for 5 minutes). The same sort of bug happened in vanilla Med 2. In this case, the game just stuck on the opening loading screen with rotating sand-timer cursor. Oddly, the game runs perfectly well on my modded version (TATW with DAC).

Can anyone help please?

It points to a corrupted save game but it usually doesn't happen in vanilla unless you saved the campaign at a battle start.

Have you tried simply starting a campaign, doing nothing else, save and then trying to load that save?

I can't start a new campaign due to the issue that I said in my original post, any campaigns that I try to load up from the past do not load either.

You can't start even a new campaign? Then something is really wrong. My suggestion - uninstall, then run a registry cleaner (wise registry cleaner is freeware). After that restart your computer to off load registry entries and then install M2TW into a different directory (I use C:\Games\M2TW)
