but i did love operation flashpoint before...so...yeah. armed assault is like an upgraded op flashpoint =D

Hmm, anyway.. I've followed this game's progress for a while now, but I'm not sure if I know what's it all about..
So could someone tell me briefly, what war are we fighting here and what time period, and is there some kind of plot too?
OFP was one of the greatest because of it's cold war conflict, I loved that storyline. I've seen a lot of ARMA screens
with desert and stuff, so.. Any info?
Just read a couple of FAQs and all I found out is that this is actually about modern times now..

woot 1 hour and 28 minutes till download is finished. Whats the demo include?

It appears to be a multiplayer demo with a few different game types. Coop for example you can play with bots so its basically single player capture a town with your squad. Other game types like capture the island sound interesting also though.

The engine is interesting, in many ways very similar to the original game but with a few extras bolted on such as hdr lighting. Buildings seem to be destroyable also (as i found out from crashing a helicopter..)
