With no sign of Lord Darry having shown up at Riverrun and noone else, but the garrisons holding both keeps, the Mallisters arrive with full force at Lord Harroway's Town to inspect the situation. With the Darrys presumably fighting for the Crown or simply not participating in a battle, Lord Mallister knew that the ferries are the key for both Stark and Arryn to not only swarm into the South, but as well to retreat fast towards their regions if they had to.
In either way the stop at Harroway's town would also show, whether the vassal lord was either catious in following Lord Tully's orders like Rushmoor was or simply was a traitor, who sided along with his overlord for the Targaryens. Time would tell, as Mallister approached the town on horseback, avoiding closer contact in case of hidden archers. He hoped for a meeting as he got one at Rushmoor Keep, but doubted that this encounter might end peaceful.
The army was prepared for a potential siege, till Whent's main army would arrive. The professional soldiers were already here, but Whent's thirty-thousand men surely would turn this siege into a safe victory, once they would arrive.

After reading the content of the outrider's letter, Mallister thought for a short duration of time, before he sighed.
He informed Lord Whent immidiately regarding the order, while also ordering Ser Aron Leadspike, his siege engineer, who was currently overseeing the contruction of siege weapons to accompany him.
Once all men were present, including as well the leader of House Mooton, Jason Mallister explains what he had in mind.
"If Lord Hoster himself wishes my army at Harrenhal, I assume things seem to be dire", he said into the round while eyeing Lord Whent, "Given that my forces were for a long time the backbone of your army, mylord Whent, it seems as if it will put us back in progress on our original task - however, I came to the conclusion that it might be wise to leave Ser Aron Leadspike with you. I wish from my bannerman that he proceeds with the current tasks, while I also order him to obey your command for the meantime of the war as if it was an order from House Mallister.
The honor of securing for our allies a free retreat route via the Kingsroad belongs now to you, mylord Whent. May your troops be able to manage, what we couldn't do so far.
With the next morning I hope to have mobilised the army, so we can aid our overlord in his request."
