He makes no attempt to bar the castle from sending out ravens, but sets about having all his light cavalry screen the camp via night and day patrols, focusing on the southern approach.

7.2 hours to Sow's Horn; ETA: 6:34 PM Pacific Time, Tuesday January 17
Timestamp: 6:34 PM Pacific Time, Tuesday January 17

When the army arrives, it begins building Tier 2 siege equipment; this will take 24 RL hours, because a siege engineer is in Jon Arryn's close employ.

Furthermore, the army's light cavalry screens and patrols the southern Kingsroad approach to KL.

    Seige of the Antlers

When the Northern host reaches the Antlers they begin construction of ladders immediately (12 hrs). Eddard calls to the walls, well out of arrow range, of the Keep opting to give them one chance at surrender. Send forth whomever commands you. Eddard began, waiting for their leader to reveal himself, in the mean time his archers are ordered to shoot down any ravens the Keep sends.

OOC: Northmen won't arrive for a few hours yet. But I wanted to get this surrender roll out of the way before

The archers successfully shoot down the raven and learn it carried word for King's Landing, telling them of the Northern host's arrival. A knight appears at the gate and advances to the midpoint between the siege lines and his own walls, with a white cloth attached to his lance. He awaits parlay.

Lord Stark and a retinue of his closest lords advance to the mid ground, under the protection of a number of sworn Stark guards. The direwolf banners fly highest, but the flayed man, the bear of Mormont, and the giant of Umber can be seen as well. A fine day for a seige, wouldn't you say ser? Ned questioned, his grey eyes cold and hard. In one hand he held the letter the Keep intended for Kingslanding, the other gripped his reigns tightly. The Mad King won't be learning of my arrival. He stated lifting the letter in the air. Eddard's close trimmed beard had begun to grow longer and thicker, and his jet black hair was wild from his journies. He looked the part of a Northmen far better than he had under Jon's care.

    (Sow's Horn)

A horn blast echoes from the siege camp and a knight approaches the small keep and demands that the commander consider surrender of the keep to Jon Arryn.

    Sow's Horn

The defenders of Sow's Horn defiantly hurl abuse at the Arryn party after the commander of the defences refused to lay down his arms.

    Antlers

"Aye, but our walls will keep you here for some time, delaying your advance." said the knight, "We'll stand by our honour where you have abandoned yours."

Quite to the contrary. Ned replied. I do as honor demands. I ride to avenge a murdered father, a butchered brother, and recover a stolen sister. Ned's words were dry. Honor also demands I give you one chance to surrender, we outnumber you over a hundred times over. Save the lives of the innocents that will die if my men are forced to take these walls. His hand came to rest on the pommel of his blade. You only get one chance to do the right thing, ser.

28,000 Stark men vs 240 Garrison
    +3 Charisma

    Sow's Horn

Timestamp: 6:34 AM Pacific Time, Tuesday January 18

    - Sow's Horn is a Minor Castle, so it has +4 against assault.
    - It is a 1,000 point levy province, so it has a garrison of 240 men: 40 Heavy Infantry, 80 Light Infantry, 40 Polearm Infantry, 40 Archers
    - The Valemen have constructed siege ladders (tier 2), and grants +3 in a siege
    - Remember, Light Infantry have +2 in siege, and Heavy/Elite Infantry have -2/-3 in siege.

Out of the host that Jon Arryn commands, he sends forth these men to storm the castle:
    - 1,800 Mercenary Light Infantry (primary)
    - 3,275 Heavy Infantry (following)
    - 5,550 Archers (support, no melee)

The assault is led by Elbert Arryn, who has +1 to battles and a bastard sword which gives him +4 Survival.

When the keep is captured, those members of House Hogg who are captured in combat are to be brought into Jon Arryn's custody as surrendered knights; those members of the family who are hiding in the keep or are underage or of the fairer sex are to be left alone but forced to stay inside their keep.

If the knight of the Antlers refuses Ned's offer of surrender, the following are sent forth from the Stark host to assault the Keep:
    1,125 Light Infantry (walls)
    1,125 Heavy Infantry (walls)
7,000 Archers (bombardment, stay of fight on walls)
    vs
    Defenders:
    40 Heavy Infantry
    80 Light Infantry
    40 Polearm
    40 Archers

The archers bombard the wall's defenders to thin their numbers and weaken their resolve, while both sets of infantry assail the walls with ladders. They mean to overwhelm the small garrison with a crushing force. None combatants are to be spared if at all possible. All knighted survivors of the conflict are to be taken prisoner with the Stark host, as well any women or underage members of House Buckwell are to be taken prisoner humanly in the Stark camp.

OOC: Assault occurs in 15 hours.

    Results:

The castle is overrun. Arryn loses 50 Light Infantry, 32 Heavy Infantry. Daemon Hogg led the defense of the castle, but when the walls were overrun, Daemon yielded the castle. Lord Hogg and Daemon Hogg (along with female members of the household) are captured. All other men of age are with the main host of the Crownlands.

Jon Arryn takes Daemon and Lord Hogg as prisoners for ransom. The women and children of the household are left in Sow's Horn. A garrison of 200 Archers is left to watch the castle.

The Valesmen then march southeast to Rosby, sending notice to the Northmen and Stormlanders of their advance southwards. When at Rosby, they set siege to the castle immediately, and spend 24 hours to build tier 2 siege equipment. Light cavalry are set to screen and patrol the camp to prevent surprise attacks.

They also send demands to the fortress for it to surrender to Jon Arryn, as a token of custom.

Total ETA for Assault of Rosby: 5:30 PM Pacific Time, Thursday January 19; 30 hours from now

Ned takes Lord Buckwell prisoner, as is usual for surrendered nobles. Northmen might be viewed as savage, but the prisoners are treated well in Eddard's care. When the war was done they would be ransomed back.

Ned left a small garrison of 80 Light Infantry and 40 Archers, there job was simple - to keep the seat warm and under control. The rest of his forces moved south, mirroring Robert's as the Stormlords marched to the capital. Ned however intended to stop at Stokeworth a few leagues out, and while his screen of 1,000 patrolling Cavalry kept a weary eye on the situation to the south. Ned would reinforce Robert if and when needed.

Letters are sent to Jon and Robert, informing them of the fall of the Antlers, the taking of Lord Buckwell, and the march to Stokeworth. The men begin constructing ladders and will assault the walls with: 1,000 Light Infantry, 1,125 Heavy Infantry, and 7,000 - in the same formation used against the Antlers: if they do not surrender. Innocents are to be spared and all of noble blood are taken prisoner, unharmed and unspoiled.

Once outside the walls of Stokeworth Ned will give the customery offer of surrender. In addition he will ask Lord Buckwell to testify to the gracious treatment of his person, his Keep, and his family - so Stokeworth might be more amicable to surrender.

OOC: +3 Charisma, out numbered 113/1.

[OOC: More than 6 hours has passed since the timestamp, so I can post this now. I won't timestamp your own movements from here because KL is clumped up enough as it is, and Robert's army is already moving there as we speak.]

Riders reach the various rebel encampments talking of a major battle at King's Landing between Riverlands forces and Royalists. It appears the Royalists held the field and the Riverlands forces withdrew to Harrenhal. Information on the details of the battle is scarce at this stage, though all appear to be in agreement that the Riverlands army has withdrawn to Harrenhal.

Stokeworth and Rosby both surrender, their garrisons being too weak to offer serious resistance. Rosby was held by no nobles. Lord Stokeworth is captured in his keep, his son being deployed in field armies of the King.

[OOC: I have neglected Karstark for too long!]

A raven comes from the Sisters.

    "Lord Stark,

Though the resistance has been fierce, I have succeeded in subduing the Sisters as a base of operations against the North. I await your instructions.

    Edwin Karstark"
