erm, that looks ore like symptoms of bugged or outdated or simply rubbish drivers actually.

Yeah, drivers or maybe even overheating.. Get the latest drivers and check that your cooler isn't covered with all kinds of crap :p

I once had an FX5900 ultra that had similar graphics after it overheated. If your card is still under warranty you might be able to swap it for a new one.
its a laptop and RTW and Med 2 worked fine - then they both suddenly started going it
and I know its not cooling because if I leave the comp off for hours as soon as I start up RTW/MTW it does this

In that case it sounds like the GPU is possibly damaged, i'm not too sure what to suggest other than seeing if it can be repaired under warranty.
Wow looks like a damaged GPU, or bad drivers. Did you overclock that GPU?

That doesn't look like tearing or an incomatability issue that's related to drivers. It looks like a problem with the chipset/core's basic image configuration, or a possible break down in the chipset/core's shader model build process. The fact that it started all of a sudden definately isn't a good sign. Is it an older GPU with some miles on it? What model is it?
