Splitting Rome into houses
I found a mod that does this but frankly it's kind of messy as it is and there is a lot of other stuff thrown into it that has nothing to do with Rome such as playable (somewhat) Berber tribes and 'a more aggressive AI' which is a completely different thing if you ask me. It also completely removes Etruscans and gives their territory to the house of Julia. All houses are also not newly created factions but renamed Lepidus (Scipii), Anthony (Brutii) and Octavian (the Senate). The original Rome faction acts as Julii.
What I would like to make is a mod that would split the existing Roman territory into four playable factions, preferably new ones because the 'Roman Houses' mod crashes the Emperor campaign. I'm seeking help here because the maker of the 'Roman Houses' mod told me he retired from Rome modding and has no idea how he did it any more. So please, if you can tell me what I have to do, tell me.

Re: Splitting Rome into houses
Well, anyone can figure this out in bloody ten days, which is exactly what I tried to avoid, but in the end had to do. I don't know how one deletes a thread so here we are. I hope at least the administration visits this forum sometimes and someone notices and deletes this.

Hi Sabhotep, did you manage to solve your problem?
I'm sorry that no one came along to help you. Sometimes, people just don't have an answer, and the people who do, obviously aren't here.
If you did solve it, could you share what you did here, so that you may possibly help others in the future if they stumble upon this thread?

Re: Splitting Rome into houses
I basically duplicated Rome in every single table it was referenced, like in 'factions', 'faction_uniform_colours', 'factions_to_mp_coop_groups' and others and changed the name, the colours etc; then in startpos.esf assigned three of four settlements initially controlled by Rome to the newly created factions and did the same with generals (they all became leaders of their respective factions, this is more complicated; you have to create custom political parties in the parties table, give them a colour and a relative (I believe the power points to be an '%n out of 160' count) power rating and assign them all to their factions on the map, and there is also a power rating table where you have to list the power level thresholds, I have no idea why but you really have to do this for every playable party or their influence levels won't show up and I think they also won't affect the game). I tried making their legions bear different names but with no result. I also tried to make all their characters bear their respective family names but no luck as well. I only managed to give them campaign victory conditions, also by duplicating the rom_rome victory conditions directories in the startpos.esf file both under PREOPEN_MAP_INFO and COMPRESSED_DATA and renaming them to 'rom_rome_cornelia' etc. I am currently trying to balance their victory conditions so they don't all have to kill each other. I think I can do that for the victory conditions but as for the campaign chapters ('Audacibus Annue Coeptis' etc.) I have no idea where to change or even see them in the first place.
