chivalry total war help bug?

i download chivalry total war i click on the game shortcut i get the drive or network connection that the shortcut ctw o.50 refers to is unavailable make sure that the disc is poperly inserted or the network resource is available help!!!!!!!!!

If you wanna really have the solution/help here, then manage to upload screenshots of

a. your shortcut-path
b. your RTW/chivalry installation directory

Then we can see what you did wrong.

And btw., there is no help-bug included, there's only a kind of operator-bug
as we cannot grant that everybody can understand the instructions (mod-computer-newbies might have problems with installing and starting a mod proper, that's life, so please try to learn how the things go).

WOW, that took a really really long time to load, I dont know why....

anyways, from your screen shot, I really cant tell if your "target" path is correct, because I cant see the end of it. However, your "Start in" path looks right, unless you installed in a different directory.

Can you make sure that you installed chivalry in "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War" or not. DO NOT REINSTALL, just go to that directory, and see if there is a chivalry folder there. Or maybe you installed RTW in a different directory as well. So that is why we need to know what your ACTUAL path to your RTW and therefore CTW folder is. So just brows over there, and copy what it says in explorer here.

EDIT - yeah DaVinci, there is something, but it took me like 5min to load. I loaded like 10 other image shack pictures while it was loading this one. very wierd.

refers to a location that is unavailable lol! i installed it in C:\Program Files\chivalry i live in the uk if it matters? i dont tink this pic matters but i wll leave it if anyone cares 5 sec loading on my pics LOL

there is no folder but there is ctw icons custom data hints 1 hints 2 prreferences etc etc it is in the rome total folder i tryed the path agian the only thing that wont work chivtw start shortcut rome total war folder-C:\Program Files\Activision (file name)

rtw target path C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe my napoleonic total war 2 mod works fine the end f the target path is similiar to yours! thanks for the help it is much apreciated

ok, well, i think i see your problem. Like you said, and if you said so correctly, you installed chivalry in "C:\Program Files\chivalry" where as, like you said yourself as well, you RTW is in "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe"

The problem is that your CTW should be in the same directory. Its just that when you install CTW, its default location will be "C:\Program Files\chivalry".

So, what to do:

1. Delete/uninstall your previous installation of CTW (this is not neccessary, but it will save you space on your HD)

2. Start the CTW installation again, and when it asks you for the location to install it, browse, or type it your self:
"C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War"
NOTE: the installation will automatically add "chivalry" to the end, so it will look like this:
"C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\chivalry\"
NOTE: make SURE that it looks like that before you continue with the installation.

3. press next, or whatever, and finnish and let CTW install. Then try your shortcut, and it should work, if it dosent report back here.

BTW there is no reason for you to post so many consecutive time in the same day. I understand its frustrating when you are trying to get your question answered, but no one is here 24/7, so believe me, we will answer your questions asap. If you have something to add to your previous post, then just use the edit button, its much more efficient.

please try following the instructions i gave because that does not look like your RTW folder should. There is no RomeTW.exe icon, as there should be, and many other things missing. Take a look at my RTW directory, I have N2TW and CTW insalled in the same place, and this is what it looks like. NOte the directory at the top:

i have all those things..i think well the game is rtw i bought it from amazon NOT 2nd hand i have everthing but the cliff thing its 1.5 rome total war!

uninstalling i doubt this somehow..

problem is, that your so called "rome-totalwar" folder has no rome total war in it. that is why I believe you have the wrong directory. You said you have N2TW installed as well, I do not see it either.

Have you installed it into the directory I asked you to install it in yet?

AND PLEASE, PLEASE, I'm beggin' ya, use the EDIT button. This is not a chat room, its forum, and there is absolutely no need to make so manny consecutive posts.

yup im installing right now! it did not automatically ad the bit to end it send it already exidts too
what folder create the program in the following start...oh well i am 75% sure this did not work ask me anything i will answer it the best i can thank youuuuuuuuu everthing there its just the starting up wont worki wish there was a way around this like tricking the game to start up i am about to showw the folder noo it doesnt wok the only icon and fully working thing is the un install button it is the only thing in the REAL chivalry folder???????

ok, well, I dont know how else to help you now. If nothing works, then I suggest reinstalling RTW, though I know how that can be a real pain in the @$$.

oh, well, heres one more way I can try to help ya, I made a little video. Its not very high quality because my screen is 1600x1050, so since its compressed, its a bit hard to read, but you can still understand what I am doing:

by the way i tryed to install on rtw gold edition and when i download would you like to overwrite the same files ect,i wonder if it can be recreated also i have chivalry in my uninstall place but it has rtw icon :hmmm:

Um, ok, have you watched my video?
If you still dont know whats wrong... well, neither do I....
I can only suggest that you just uninstall EVERYTHING, and then reinstall RTW followed by CTW following my instructions above. Because it seems that you might have misplaced some file or folder.

In fact, I still really dont know what your problem is.... I dont want to sound harsh, but your writing looks like you have ADD, it just all over the place... In your last sentence, you had like 4 different ideas, and not a single comma, period or capital letter. Its really hard to understand exactly what you are trying to say, and I am sure everything would be a lot simpler if you could simply try:
1. separate different ideas into different sentences
2. separate different sentences by periods
3. take a little more time to formulate your sentences
4. reread what you have wrote at least once
5. be much more precise (eg. I really have no clue as to what you mean by your "uninstall place".

You could save many hours of frustration in exchange for taking 5 more minutes to properly write your post...
