Just some questions about guilds...
Can you only have one per settlement?
What does the Assasins/thieves/theologicans guilds do? (they have no specific bonuses)
Any other comments

- Assasins Guild makes you assasins better (Have more subterfuge)
- Thives Guild makes your Spies better (Have more subterfuge)
- Theologicans Guild makes you Priest have higher piety rating, increasing their chance of being elected cardinal and thereafter becoming the Pope
You can only have one per settlement, but if you would try to have another one instead of the one you already have you just have to detroy it and hope for another guild to approch you

And if you want a particular guild, keep building the relevant unit in the city and sooner or later you'll get one. Except for knights guilds where there are factors like going on crusades and a couple of other things. Just search for Guilds threads there are plenty.

Yes, they have specific bonuses: Better trained spys ...
You don't need to go on crusades to obtain Knight guilds, except "perhaps" the templar guild which for some reason I'm never offered.
i.e. On capturing Pamplona you'll be offered the following turns the Hospitallier Knights providing you don't already have a guild knight built or captured in some settlement of yours. This has happened to me already in 3 different games as the English, French and Spanish IRRC.
