Tywin Lannister was dressed for battle by his squires. Gregor Clegane, looking more like an armored giant than a man, strode before Tywin. Tywin simply gave him a nod and Gregor bowed and headed off to the flank. At first Tywin had been shocked to see a small force coming from Lannisport, but then he decided he wasn't. Kevan was untested at war, and he would be unaware that Tywin had brought a large number of mounted knights. They would prove decisive, he thought, under the command of the Mountain. Tygett was preparing for battle as well as the horns blew and called men to formation. "Let the hammer fall swiftly." Tygett said over the din. "We must drive them back here."

Tywin nodded. He had received very little support from the surrounding lords. A victory here might being them back into the fold. "I see no other banners other than Lannister among them. That bodes well for us." Tywin replied. His own army had but two banners, his own and a small Clegane dogshead.

    --------------

On the other side of the field, Kevan was gripping the reins of his horse with white knuckles. His brother had fielded many horse, but he had the advantage in infantry numbers or so he thought. "Gerion, take command of that flank!" he ordered. "We will drive them back as one solid line." His brother smiled, nodded, and spurred his horse onwards. This would be a decisive battle.

The only thing that saved Tywin from an possible defeat was the discipline of his soldiers who bloodied Kevan enough to push him back. The area between Lannisport and Casterly Rock where the two forces lie is covered in soldiers, with a clear victor undetermined. Though Kevan's soldiers have taken quite a beating, Tywin's men managed to achieve a costly victory. Both sides are greatly exhausted by the fighting that just occurred.

Capture/Death Rolls (modifiers included in rolls)
    Tywin Lannister: 11, Captured
    Tygett Lannister: 17, Free
Gregor Clegane: 9, Captured (free due to results of duel)

    Kevan Lannister: 11, Captured

    Gerion vs. Gregor duel
    14 rounds later...

Gerion appears to be the emerging victor, but is slashed down by Gregor in the heat of battle.

Due to status of victory achieved by Tywin's forces, all captured characters get a 50/50 chance of escaping
    1 - 10, free. 11 - 20 captured
    Tywin Lannister: 4, free
    Kevan Lannister: 3, free

Despite being captured, both Kevan and Tywin are able to escape the grips of their captors in the chaos of the battle. Kevan returns to hear his brother, Gerion, had been killed in the chaos of battle by Ser Gregor Clegane. The battle had revealed interesting results for both sides during this rather chaotic battle. It was in that moment that a horn blared across the field of battle, revealing the arrival of Tybolt Lannister and soldiers from Lannisport. Yet he remained idle and stationery between the two forces, for now...

Tybolt surveys the battlefield, looking down at both sides of the field. Kevan appeared to be as battered as a tavern drunk after a fight with the barkeeper, yet Tywin seemed to have lost about as many men as Kevan did. As the Lannister surveyed the field of battle, he noticed that Gerion's banner was missing, his fate unknown to Ser Tybolt. The Lannister hears one of his brother's retainers ride up, standing idly beside him.

What are your orders, Ser Tybolt? What shall you deem as the fate of the Westerlands?

Tybolt glances down and behind him at the head of Stafford that was deteriorating beside his horse's saddle. On one side, Kevan did not know of their allegiance and, on the other, Damon supported Tywin out of loyalty. To follow his brother Damon's footsteps or to betray him as Stafford betrayed Damon and Damion. Ser Tybolt closes his eyes, exhaling deeply before drawing his sword.

    CHARGE!!!

Tywin, Tygett, and Gregor executed their orders effectively. Tywin was surprised at the ferocity with which Kevan's soldiers fought. He even thought, in the center of the battle, he caught sight of Kevan once or twice. The battle was so contested that Tywin had to bloody his sword as well, a rare occasion. On the flank, his men were holding their ground. "Keep fighting!" he commanded.

A hand reached to grab Kevan about the collar, but an axe quickly severed it before it could pull him from the line. "Seven hells!" he said, slipping on the blood and entrails spilled about the ground.

Ser Gregor Clegane spurred his horse and the mass of charging knights into the enemy flank, at first the line buckled but soon it stabilized. Gregor was surprised as his horse was killed out from under him. " your mother!" he bellowed as he cut a lightly armed infantryman nearly in half. He was clad in armor as black as night. He searched the field and spotted Gerion sitting atop his horse.

Geriod had been fighting from horseback, slaying a mounted knight and looking for his next challenge. When he spotted the Mountain running towards him, he raised his sword in challenge and spurred forward. The next thing he knew, he was flying through the air and hit the ground hard. Gregor had clearly used his first blow to kill his horse. Still, his sword blow had been effective, it found an unprotected section of his side under the shoulder, exposed when Gregor lifted his arm. He recovered, standing. "Come die then, you beast." He called across the field. The wound was gushing blood, and Gerion felt confident in victory.

Gregor charged, beating him down with heavy blows from his greatsword. Gerion could not remember the last time he had been hit so hard. Gregor was relentless, but clumsy "I'm going to cut you open, Lannister!" he said darkly. Gerion launched an attack, but Gregor countered, his sword finding Gerion's throat. Gerion choked on his blood and collapsed. It was at this point that Kevan's men began to get pushed back. Gregor stood over Gerion and with his iron-shod boot, smashed his head in by stomping on it.

Kevan looked across the field and ordered a retreat. He hoped Gerion has survived the assault, but he could not be sure. He wheeled about and saw a large host facing him. The Lannisport Lannisters had arrived to save him! "to the city!" kevan commanded.

Tywin had seen the forces from Lannisport pouring from the gate and forming up. When Kevan's forces broke he forbid his own men to pursue. "Form up!" He commanded. "Send runners to Tygett and Ser Gregor, we will engage these forces and then set in a rearguard action to cover a retreat to the Rock if they attack." He had lost too many men to fight another battle and have any chance of winning...

Tybolt's men charged the field, but they weren't at all aiming for Tywin. Nor did they decrease their speed as the soldiers and horsemen charged right for Kevan's tattered forces.

For the Westerlands! For Tywin Lannister!

The roars of the commanders and their soldiers echoed off the walls of Lannisport. Tybolt led the charge with sword in hand. He knew this is what Damon would have wanted Gerold and Tybolt to do; to support the real heir and not the son who had ruled the Westerlands in his stead. Tradition demanded that the remaining sons of Jason Lannister support Tywin, tradition demanded their loyalty to the rightful heir. Tradition brought Tybolt to throw his loyalty behind Tywin. Just as the soldiers of Lannisport were seconds away from crashing into the shocked ranks of Kevan's host, Tybolt uttered quietly to himself.

Sleep in peace now, Damon... the man you were loyal to the end has claimed his rightful place.

What came next was a great onslaught as the fresh troops under Tybolt clashed with the tattered remnants of Kevan Lannister.

A runner found Ser Gregor covered in blood and gore. "Ser, my Lord Tywin bids you to form up your men in a defensive position, a host approaches."

"I see them you bloody fool." Gregor bellowed. He called for a horse and mounted up. "Bugger that." Gregor replied, spurring his horse forward. "Form up!" he ordered the survivors. "Any of you break ranks and I'll strangle you with your own innards." He gave the order to charge. On the other end of the field, Tywin cursed. Suddenly his mood changed as he realized the Lannisport Lannisters were in fact attacking Kevan. "By the gods!" he said, surprised. Clearly something had changed inside Lannisport. "Form up, charge!" he ordered.

Kevan blanched as he realized he was betrayed. "Bloody turncloaks!" he yelled in a rage. He ordered his men to charge and kill as many of the Lannisport men as possible, completely forgetting about his brother. If he was to die he woudl die fighting. "Send them to seven hells!" he commanded, but he could tell his own men were demoralized.

    Traitor! Baseless Lion!

The words rang near Kevan as Tybolt dismounted his horse. Once his body was firmly placed upon the ground, the severed head of Stafford Lannister could be seen upon the steed that Tybolt was using. The young Lannister tossed his red cloak off his armor, the armor that was once worn by Damon Lannister and would have one day been inherited by Damion. Now it was fitted upon Tybolt. The sword in his hand was pointed downward for now as he moves towards Kevan.

The Westerlands was never yours, Kevan! The Westerlands shall always belong to Tywin! For he is the only lion, proven in his ferocity and prowess, to become Lord of Casterly Rock!

He lifts up his sword, gripping it with both of his hands. Tybolt then bellowed at Kevan.

Now stand, betrayer, and face your doom at the hands of Ser Tybolt Lannister, son of Jason Lannister!!

    Kevan vs. Tybolt Lannister
    Kevan: +1 Battles, +3 Survival, +3 Rearguard, +2 Duels
    Tybolt: +2 Battle, +2 Duel, +2 Survival

    16 rounds later...

After the duel goes back and forth, Tybolt manages to score a killing blow as his sword cuts through Kevan's sword arm, slashing it off at the midsection. Kevan awaits his fate...

    ===================

Kevan had experience and Tybolt had youth. Both displayed a great skill with their swords, parrying each other and going back and forth with their advances. Tybolt had secured the opening blows, pressing down upon Kevan until a reversal was achieved due to a slip up in his stance. Yet as Kevan pressed his advantage, Tybolt held his own, parrying most blows while others cut into his skin. Tybolt managed to feint back, forcing Kevan to advance too far. This was when the young Lannister saw his opening and brought his sword down, cutting the sword arm of Kevan at the elbow. With this achieved, Tybolt would point his sword's bloodied tip at the neck of his adversary.

It appears the Seven view you as the faithless lion, Kevan...

The battle ended not with a bang, but with a whimper. The majority of Kevan's men had been killed or had yielded. The only section of the battlefield still raging was the flank Ser Gregor had appeared on. As men tried to yield, Gregor hacked them to pieces, giving no quarter. Tygett had discovered the corpse of Gerion and Tywin was making his way to where the banners oof the lords of the field converged. It was there he first saw Kevan, wounded as he was.

Kevan held his bloody stump of an arm, wincing in pain. All had been lost. He caught sight of Tywin. "You've won, brother." he said pathetically. "Be done with it." He said. Tywin stared at him blankly and nodded to Tybolt, "Finish it, Ser."

Tybolt hears the order from his cousin, Tywin. Justice, thought Tybolt, justice for my brother and my nephew so that they may rest in peace. The young Lannister raises his sword and, without looking away, severs the head of Kevan Lannister. After the deed was performed, Ser Tybolt turns to Tywin and gets down on one knee, bowing his head to the victorious Lord of Casterly Rock. Within plain view was Stafford's head, attached to Tybolt's steed.

My Lord Tywin, Lannisport is yours. My brother Gerold is vanquishing any co-conspirators among the City Watch as we speak. The Lady Crakehall, Lannister and Lefford, widows of those deceased, are being kept safe under his watch.

Tybolt then offers his sword up to Tywin as a sign of his allegiance and to offer his services to the Lord Paramount of the Westerlands.

I regret to inform you that your cousin, Damon, and his son, Damion are dead. Killed by Stafford Lannister in his attempted coup of Lannisport.

The Lord of Crakehall arrived to the Battlefield with 3000 men. With his army forming ranks, the Redtusk quickly rode forwards with his bodyguard, holding a banner of truce.

"Then this whole sordid affair is ended." Tywin replied. "Gerion and Kevan are dead. It is regrettable but they brought this misfortune upon themselves." Tywin turned to address the notables present. "We shall retire to Lannisport, and I shall call an assembly of the lords of the Westerlands. There is much to be decided in the wake of this rebellion, as well as the state of the realm."
