Default Historical Battles on campaign map...?

Exactly what factors determine if a battle will become a historical battle on the campaign map:hmmm:. (The crossed swords landmarks throughout the campaign map)...

    Just curious

It has to be a heroic victory (it'll say at the end of the battle above the casuality counts)

I always thought this was a pretty nifty little feature

I've got a couple of these markers on my map. In both cases I completly obliterated the opposing army and no-one escaped death! hehe. Also I was pretty largly outnumbered in both cases. I think this is a great little feature in the game.

I like it too, but I feel that large battles with lots of death should become historical, even if (especially if) they were close victories.

Maybe historical but those battles are named famous. And I think the battle is famous to your people when you really kick some ass. No one likes to remember and tell tales of battles that were a close call. =)

Caesar is said to have whispered ''et tu Brute?'' as he had 20 knives sticking in his organs, but i think he actually murmured: ''Argblfpahkpfff."

Just one correction. It doesn't have to be Heroic victory, although I have only had those with a heroic victory. I remember someone saying that he had it with clear victorry or something like that.

Sometimes when u get heroic victory it wont be a famous battle, at least not for me. In my campaigns it has to be at least one full or allmost one full stack aginst an other. For example I crushed two turkish stacks just outside Iconium. but i couldn't have done it without my 10 lovely retineu Longbowmen and a good strategic point. Is it just me or is any one else geeting a smile in their face when u see thos early landmarks in the late part of the game? Becouse I remeber those fun battles where it was none-passive ai and u were outnumbered. And still manage to get a heroic victory. I really like this landmarks. This is my first TW game so it's a new thing for me. Really sorry for my bad english and if i am geeting off topic.
