From the south, an army carrying the black and white banners of House Swann draws near to Storm's End. Lord Leyton Swann rides at the front of his personal guard and makes his way to Desmond Baratheon.

Lord Swann's banners were a welcome sight to Donnel. He'd mustered the forces of Storm's End as the raven had told him to, but he had not received any further instructions. Waiting seemed like the best option, but it was never bad to discuss with another sound mind.

"Lord Leyton!" Desmond greeted the Swann leader as he rode up to the front of their column. "I see you have come in force, very good. I trust you have read the letter from the Eyrie?" In the background, the Swann forces were directed to an open spot under the walls of Storm's End to set up camp.

Swann greeted Desmond Baratheon with a brief nod. He was dressed in full armor, a white-and-black cloak hanging from his shoulders, and a swan crowning his helmet.

"I have, Ser Desmond. I have also heard of the heinous act that does not deserve to be called a trial that the king ordered. I am greatly disturbed by it all, and even more so that he has the gall to demand the heads of two young men, innocent of whatever imaginary crime Lord Stark and his son died for. The king was paranoid to be sure, but to go this far... he is mad, as simple as that. Have there been any word from Lord Robert?"

Desmond nodded. "He ordered me to call the banners, and wrote that he'd take a ship from Gulltown to Storm's End immediately. Considering he should have been here already, however, my best guess is that the lads already ran into trouble. Still, we should assume the best. It is too late to back out regardless." He coughed. "Still, we may want to consider changing our location and moving on our own initiative rather than wait for Robert to get here. The time that we are milling about here may be valuable."

Lord Leyton looked over the banners that waved over the camp. Most of the Storm Lords had answered the call it seemed, though a few houses appeared absent. If they were on the way there was nothing to worry about, but any absent bannerman was troubling news.

"Perhaps so, let us hope he was not captured by any royal ship on the way, or happened upon a storm. For now we can assume he's on his way, as you say. While I do agree that we need to take the initiative, we need Lord Robert to lead the banners if we go on the offensive. Spreading out and garrisoning certain keeps in the area around Storm's End and the borders to the north and south may be wise, so we can more easily spot an invading army."

"A sound strategy," Desmond agreed. "However, straying too far from Storm's End would carry the risk of isolation of the garrisoned keeps. Perhaps we should limit our forces to, say, Haystack Hall and Griffin's Roost."

"Griffin's Roost will guard us to the west and south, but I think Bronzegate will serve better than Haystack Hall for our northern defense. It lies directly along the Kingsroad at the edge of the Kingswood, which makes it an excellent defensive position."

Desmond called one of his commanders. "Send the bulk of our light cavalry to the strongholds of Bronzegate and Griffin's Roost," he said. "I want them to inform me of any royalist movements they encounter, holding the keeps is of only secondary importance." Soon, 4,000 outriders would be moving across the horizon, two groups shooting in opposite directions. "And now, we wait for Robert."

As a lone ship flying no flag entered Shipbreaker's Bay, the sentries on land responded by rushing all over the camp. Who would have any incentive to approach Storm's End in the current situation, lest it was important? By the time Robert's ship had moored, a small host of nobles had gathered by the harbor. The Lord of Storm's End had donned his armor and held his warhammer in a loose grip as he disembarked from the vessel. "All, hear me!" he boomed. "I have returned unscathed! Now, we make our move against the Mad King!"

    secrets n stuff
Storm's End is basically ditched, every named character but Desmond Baratheon is taken along on the campaign.

Word reaches the army that Dornish troops have attacked the province of Nightsong.
