    Default [Official Submods] English Faction and Unit Names for DeI 1.2

    I've remade the English faction and unit names submods for DeI 1.2. These are the new official versions. I don't see a reason to combine them into one mod, but you can use one or both, however you like.

    English Faction Names: This mod reverts most faction names to vanilla (English), or creates Anglicized versions of the new emergent faction names. A few stay as they are (Saka Rauka for example, since that's different enough from the Massagetae to justify the change).

    English Unit Names: This mod translates unit names into English. I've left some words in Latin or Greek where it makes sense to give the unit a bit more flavor - "Hastati," "Agema Cavalry," etc.

    Already done. It's not updated for 1.2, but it should still work. Maybe some of the cities aren't correct because of the move to the IA map though. Let me know if you notice anything.

    Hm, maybe I should've put that in the same thread though. Ah well, I'll toss a link up in the OP of this thread.

    I would let you know except I don't know historical names; I just don't like Roma and Sirokusai or whatever it was!

    The tooltips on the left look strange when I mouse over Holosideros Barracks after I installed this submod.

    It's probably an issue with the screen resolution and some longer unit names. This happens on some resolutions when there are too many things to show in the building effect panel. The only possible fix would be to make some unit names shorter. I might see if I can make a few shorter, but anyway that will wait until the Hellenic Overhaul release.

    The vanilla city names mod for 1.2 isn't taking effect for me. What could be going wrong?

    It's working for me. Make sure you're using the new 1.2 version from the forum thread. The Steam version isn't updated yet.

    Yeah, I am. The 1.2 beta version in your mediafire link just doesn't take effect in my game. The faction and unit mods are fine, but this just isn't taking effect. If I add more "@'s" to the mod name, will that force it to load last and maybe rectify any conflict?

    Theoretically yes, though the @ I already included should be enough.

    My bad. The mod actually is working, but I was thrown off by you using "Athenai", "Roma", "Carthago", and other non-English names when I first checked.

    Faction names should be. Unit names won't be compatible yet, until I get some time to update them tomorrow or so.

    The Steam version of the faction names is updated. Unit names will wait until the upcoming barbarian overhaul so I don't have to redo my work.
