    The region names for some reason were removed.

    Baggage trains will help in extreme conditions (desert/alpine etc) and also slightly reduce supply consumption

    Hey guys, I played Rome faction after a long break and noticed that legionaries march in a battle-ready formation even if there are no enemies nearby. I remember seeing them march in a relaxed formation like any other unit and I liked it better that way, is there a submod for the original legionaries walking animation maybe? Sorry if I post this in a wrong thread.

    If they walk in ready stance, it means they used all of their ammo (which is a good indication that enemies are close ) or you manually changed them to melee when they still have ammo let. If they still have ammo left, they will walk in normal way.

    An idea concerning the different campaigns of Rome II that DeI has reworked and the conversation around them: make permanent threads about them so people can follow the conversation and progress of particular campaign. It seems that every other time I visit DeI forum there is always a new thread asking about the same Rise of Republic progress etc.

    There is an official thread for RoR, probably could be stickied though. Anyway, I've been around long enough to know that plenty of people will either be blissfully oblivious of the obvious stickied posts, or just believe that their questions always merit a separate post.

    Just booted up DEI again for a play.. Hoplite style units are still so annoying to fight. They push through formations and orient themselves in weird angles like there is no resistance and take little to no casualties in the process, Roman legions have no defense against it, and take ridiculous casualties. Makes subjugating gaul a lot more painful, My legionaries can't stop them pouring into the fort and outflanking them.

    Hello,
    how can I edit the unit stat cards to see more informations? Playing with data venia, the speed stat is missing (or not shown for me) and the bonus vs xxx stat is also missing. I would also like to see the accuracy stat, if possible.

    Hi everyone, I have a few questions regarding using agents in game, all my campaigns I use them in primitive ways, only activate their abilities , governor(increase cunning) - just move to province, switch on ability for happiness and waiting for new perks for tax rate and etc., champion(increase authority) - only for good public order, same switch on ability in problem province, spy(increase zeal) - stolen the food, and spying of course.
    Can someone explain me another ways to use them, because its to boring already, just which agent could be good for killing enemies, entice other agents.... etc.

    Also another question regarding Pontic campaign, I already has around 100 turns, 4.5 imperium, but until now I can not recruit chariots, its something strange, because technology for its was in the beginning of technologies branch.

    Have legionaries been nerfed? I noticed the casualty rate of my legionaries is a lot higher, especially for first/eagle cohort. They can't hold for now unless in disciplined formation, Enemies soon force their way through. My praetorians were losing to some damn spear levies they charged from the rear. Also the AI keeps spamming armies, where are they getting all the money. I can barely maintain and afford a few units, and this little village in the middle of a forest has 3 full armies lurking around and is buying more every day as they keep throwing wave upon wave onto my diminishing forces.

    No nerfs, people actually find them way too strong at the moment. Unless of course you have a mod conflict.

    Being charged from rear is kinda expected to deal casualties, even to elites.

    Dispciplined formation should only be used for holding ground, if you use it in assault or against units with higher reach like phalanx, they will perform worse.

    There is also an experimental battle pack, that will be eventually added to main mod, which changes a lot of stuff in regards to combat.

    The Roman soldiers fight pretty well in current version of the mod. However, they are much weaker in experimental battle pack and I hope that pack is not in final stage and some stuff will be changed in future.

    That is not my experience as if anything, experimental pack should make them able to stand ground much better, which applies to all well armoured untis. Please provide video of screen evidence for me to check.

    my guess is that your troops has been damaged by missiles prior to melee combat. I’ve found that javelins are still a bit too overpowered in the battle pack - they often get more kills in either my or the AI’s hands than any melee unit.

    Today I had a siege of Knossos capital(forgot the name), and for my big impression I found that the city have walls, but on campaign map same like all other cities in province (except province capital), it is possible to change model on campaign map? And what other town have also walls?
    I found only one way how to check if the city with walls, only by icon.

    We had to make it load nearest battle map as CA messed it up and it would crash the game. Same for Tapsa in Africa, I think.

    i thought they did away with hitpoints except for large units like elephants, most having 1 and armour/shield percentage values as it should have been in vanilla so that when you shoot at a unit there's no delay before they start potentially taking casualties from it

    Since Rome 2 release all Tw games are working on HP based systems and that includes mods as there are no true 1HP ones out there, they just lower total HP.
