Bugged campaign, some settlements' populations are fixed. Recruitment is possible, no change to population in the following turns.

Sounds like you're using another mod that breaks the population scripts.

    Dear DeI team,
I have a bug I don't seem to find reported before.

My garrisoned generals (no army) stopped gaining experience.

I have the Steam ver. of RTW2, all 3 parts of DeI from Steam workshop.
The only extra thing was the Alternative Economy submod.
While I used the Steam workshop version of the submod, all was fine. But two days ago I've tried to install two other, more recent, versions from the respective thread on this forum. Ofc, I had only one active at a time.
Anyway, I've noticed this exp issue after beginning a new campaign.

The problem is that it seems to be irreversible. I've tried:
    - loading the older version of the submod
    - disabling submods
    - loading previous savegames from the old campaign/starting new ones
    - uninstalling submods and DeI via mod manager and manually deleting remaining files
    - installing only DeI again
    - verifying game files via Steam

No matter what I do, no general garrisoned in a city would gain even one point of exp...

Any ideas what could be done to fix it, please?

there is a problem regarding scripts. the exp point for being garrisoned comes from an edited vanilla script, if it doesn't work it means something is overwriting or bugging it
do you still have supply army effects? faction leader effects? even population?
    give it a check
keep in mind that the exp point will be given next turn

if you already did every operation described here:

    1. Clean out your data folder found in the Rome 2 install folder for Steam. Various mods can be active even without activating them in mod manager.
    2. Most other mods are not compatible with DeI so deactivate/remove them. Some submods may still cause issues.
    3. Reverify the game in steam to check local file integrity.
    4. Make sure you have last patch for the game itself.
    5. If none of that works, try deleting the Rome2.exe file found in the Rome 2 directory and reverifying your game cache in Steam.

then try by loading the game through mitch's mod manager

    Thank you for your reply!

Deleting .exe and reverifying did work on the second attempt.

Hi everyone, am I supposed to be able to recruit Ligurian Cavalary in Cosentia after building Aux Barracks ? Should be Mediolan region specific unit ?

Also had Cretan Archers in Syracuse,

    Thanks !

    Mods used:
    - no civil war (+100 loyalty for all parties)
    - no bonus for major factions
    - no garrison PO penalty
    - 12TPY
    - Dresden Sack Liberate
    - Timbe Trade Regions (have disabled this one to check, no luck)

Yes Greek units can be recruited in Syracuse. If you look at the Aux guide, Romans pull in AOR units from neighboring regions in pre-Marian aux barracks.

Are you sure you dont have another mod in your data folder or otherwise affecting something? Also make sure part 1 loads first.

Even if I use them, the amount of province development points showed in the Region Growth tab doesn't change and remains the same throughout my campaigns.
I can accumulate and spend them just fine, it is just a minor visual bug that I noticed no one has ever reported.
I use only DEI, without any submod.

Pay attention to Octavian's changing shield, it is constantly changing. Distance, approach. I have been observing this for a very long time.

Not sure if a bug, or just something weird with my setup - but Roman Legionarii seem to not want to stay in Testudo formation, they constantly switch in and out of it??? I've tried disbaling auto-fire and enabling guard mode however it doesn't change this strange switching behaviour.
Any thoughts? Currently makes Testudo unusable

    Thanks.

I'm having issues with the population script. Several recently conquered settlements don't have growing populations despite the indicators saying that at least some of the pop classes will be growing. Pop is getting used when units are recruited, but never growing. I haven't checked old settlements that I conquered many turns ago, but at one point the population mechanic was working fine and now it isn't. I have cleaned out my Rome 2 data folder and I'm now deleting the .exe file and verifying the steam files, is there anything else I can try? I've tried going back several saves but the problem still persists on them.

It sounds like the script may have gotten bugged somehow, have you loaded any other mods or submods?

I had previous versions of DeI and some alterations I'd made to DeI files in the data folder but they were not activated and renamed. They had been in there since the start of the campaign and have not caused issues. I'm certain the population mechanic was working early game as I was playing a campaign where I moved my entire faction to a different part of the map to start from scratch. Is there anyway I can reset the script so that I don't have to dump the campaign?

    Thanks!

yeah. just make an external pack with dei vanilla scripts and load them before your packs
how it will work... depends on what you did previously
