    I dont know....it was OK few months ago exactly as you describe but recently in my campaign in battles Iceni vs German tribes the ranged units almost never stop at range as you describe.
    Also I unsubbed slower battle and changed few graphics settings and tried same battle again (blood issue). Paused immediately and elefants were clean, few seconds later there were blood stains all over them and after that I found their own units trampled. None dead, but many on the ground.

    they came too close and started shooting anly after they were spotted and aim melee units. So I assume the issue is with stalk, when they are hidden.

    - here innitial deployment was fine but then just started runnin at me while I was already shooting them, until they came into melee units range and hot shredded while doing so. Ignored my slingers.

    And sorry, I would love to, but I dont have recordings of those battles (2-3 occasions, same result). It happend in my campaign with full stacks (Iceni vs Leugoz or Nervii, can't remember). By they were germanic hunters, so I assume it is issue with stalk. And the hunters basically went straight into main clash line before event shooting a single arrow and it was mashup. They were trying to hold their own line, but in the middle of clash and were caught by melee.
    Instead I did some testing and posted screens for you above.

    Hey guys,

    I found another unit missing a javelin -- the Symmachoi Thureophoroi swordsman unit for Sparta has no missile weapon. It renders them quite useless, which is a shame because they look gorgeous.

    Hey guys!

    Idk if anyone has reported this bug already - there's 277 pages on this thread - the antesignani unit (for Rome and the Imperator Augustus Roman factions) when in melee mode uses it's spears like an axe in a slashing motion rather than a thrust. Perhaps this is a case of the wrong animation being assigned in the DB tables.

    I'm testing your new phalanx/pikes submods and they work great as intended, considering the issue they're meant to fix. But they somehow broke phalanx in the process.
    - phalanx/pixes (I mean weapon) now seem to have no colision and units charge straight into them and fight toe to toe, so phalanx units lost their point.
    - they sometimes decide to push into enemy (like when you used to double click them) without a reason or my intervension

    They were even long pikes and I was able to lost that battle izi. What should have been clear slaughter
    But what I liked about that battle, it wasn't obvious braindead AI (must've been some numbers on flanking and frontal defence) but they were flanking me like there is no tomorrow later. Great behaviour from AI side

    All of that is intended as disabling their pike behaviour like ability to attack at range was the fix for them not to spin for AI etc.

    Keep in mind that you need to manually click on enemy for them to properly engage as now they are using Formed Attack which forces them to stay in place if no order is given. So in other words, if they just recieved enemy charge, they need to have attack order given after it to properly attack enemy back. Btw, also in your test that enemy unit while light, is one of the nastiest enemies you can encounter as they are Gaesatae, so they pretty much wont rout and have very high stats, especially damage. They are best countered with ranged units.

    BUG report: Mamlakatin Saba - Seregelanan (Sabaean chariots) are not shooting in Cantabrian circle. And many of their unit are not showing ranged stats (range/dmg)

    I came across a map in Armenia that is impossible to play. The minimap has a grey field going across the length of the entire map and while it is not visible in game it blocks all movement across it. Here you can see the weird path my unit took across what should be open ground, because they were avoiding the unnavigable part of the map. You can see the grey field on the minimap, this whole area gives a big red X on my cursor and I cannot issue orders on or across it. The battle is impossible to play as the armies cannot reach each other. I don't know how much power modders have over the maps but here is the save file for the battle if it helps.

    We can't do nothing. Battle maps are not moddable.
    There are thousand of different maps and simply CA wasn't able to check everything everywhere.
    Luckilly this types of bugs are really rare.

    I figured the battle maps were as unmoddable as the campaign map, oh well. Another entry in the codex of bugs.

    CTD on Pre-battle loading screen, fighting Qataban as Samraatya maurya. Turn 55 near Pura. Only Benjin's mods and alternate economy pack.

    The pre-battle loads as normal except at for the very last bit and then CTD's.

    1.Can Iweriu and Kaledonoi require caledonian noble horsemen?I don't see it in the stables.
    2.Ardiaei and seleukidai can require both early and late general in the first turn.
    3.seleukidai cant upgrade early unit such as companion cavalry and royal guard cavalry so i can only disband and rerecruit .
    4.Seleukidai can research Greek Unit Upgrades in the first turn and can upgrade at once,these unit don't need reform?
    5.Seleukidai can require royal guard cavalry but i don't see it
    in the shock cavalry when i play custom battle.

    Arche Bosphorus has 2 types of thorax spearmen after their thorax reforms: one replaces the bosporan hoplites, while the other, with a specific unit card, is available to recruit separately once you reach the thorax reforms. Also, there are 2 unit cards for the same scythian horse archers AoR unit. It's both confusing and redundant.
