Regency

In the rare instance where a landed family is reduced to a child below the age of 16 with no adult uncles or cousins to rule as Regent, it falls to the child's liege lord to appoint a Regent. The liege lord may even elect to appoint himself, moving the child into his own lands while leaving a castellan to run the child's estate until he comes of age.

Should the liege lord elect to go through with naming himself and appointing a castellan, he effectively assumes control of the land, title, and any standing forces, until the child comes of age. Incomes still can't be pooled, but the castellan will assume control of the estate's accounts and the liege lord can tax that territory with no penalty (up to 100%).
