Erdo declared that the operation east of euphrates is gonna start in few days. That is a bold and certain declaration, not something he can easily delete from the minds of public, I wonder what kind of diplomatic preperations are made for this. I thought such an act was unlikely, as US personal is there.

I kinda hope Turkish soldiers and US soldiers start killing each other, just to see what happens to NATO.

Looks like he is taking the risk anyways. Real curious to see the US response.

I think Erdogan want to deflect from economical troubles ( high inflation etc...)
Cause tomorrow is a brand-new day
And tomorrow you'll be on your way
Don't give a damn about what other people say
Because tomorrow is a brand-new day

Neither American nor Turkish soldiers have any business in Syria, so the best one can hope for is high body count on both sides that are occupying it illegally. Obama would probably just back down to Erdogan and cover it all up, but I'm curious how Trump would react to his NATO ally killing his soldiers.

What a truly sick mentality... No, the best one can hope for would hope is that they all leave Syria peacefully and for fighting to cease completely with order taking place.

My scenario is harsh, but realistic. What you described would never happen.

Your scenario is sick within the context of hope.

There is hope and then there is unrealistic expectations. Like I said, my scenario may sound "sick" but that's because it is realistic. Neither US nor turkey will leave unless they are forced to leave.

No, it doesn't just sound sick, it is sick. It is a sick argument to say that one can best hope that they all die, and thats not the cool kind of sick.

A wise and humane decision by Trump. Now all that's left is to end Turkish occupation, and Syria will be free again.

I wouldn't bet on that. The news regarding the possible withdrawal from Syria are clearly directed to the Turkish president's comments about an imminent offensive against the Kurdish-controlled eastern bank of Euphrates. Meanwhile the State Department has approved of a remarkably profitable sale of Patriot missiles to Turkey, thus indicating a drastic improvement of the relations between Ankara and Washington. I am not sure whether the rumours are accurate or not, but if they are, America's diplomatic credibility will sink even deeper after the violation of the nuclear agreement with Iran. Nobody would want to become a proxy of the United States, if their friendship are so fragile and completely vulnerable to foreign pressure. Anyway, I am personally in favour of ending the occupation, but I sincerely hope that Turkey and the Islamist criminals employed as her mercenaries will be prevented from intervening in eastern Syria. YPG's rule is far from stellar, but the repercussions of the military classes and the Salafist Far-West that will succeed the Kurdish administration will be devastating. On a funny note, it's hilarious to watch many of Donald's supporters totally misrepresent the rumours and still naively believe that their Messiah is determined to launch a Christian Crusade against Muslims and the evil Sultan.

I'm sure that Assad will have to say a few things about that. So would Russians.

Then why is Afrin under Turkish control?

Because they weren't sure what Americans would do. Now Kurds have no choice but to side with Assad since American sugar daddy decided to pack up and leave. For all three sides, it is a time to hunt some Orcs, oh I mean Turkish-backed jihadists, oh well, same thing.

If Trump really orders troop pullout from Syria he will earn my respect. This is another never ending war against enemies that cannot be really defeated. It serves only the military industrial complex

Not mine since it will likely involve no particular sense of the implications or any broader strategic thought. Certainly if the same president can still support the House of Saud in it pointless brutality in Yemen I can only imagine Fox and Friends said it was good ideal.
