Shadows on units during battles Is this a problem I`ve got ?

During battles the shadows of the units seem to flicker a lot. Is this a known problem, and is there a workaround.

I have Windows 7 and the Nvidia drivers are up to date.

I`ve gone from 2.2A to latest version and certainly don`t recall this phenomena in 2.2A

And another thing - I`ve not installed the "Animation" patch. Is this a reason? and what does this patch do and is it vatal?
