Default Conquer anywhere/regional occupation - how does this work?

I should start by saying that while I do have experience modding total war games using PFM (mostly making new units) I haven't started any major TWH projects yet and I'm not familiar with this particular issue as it's never been a part of previous TW games.

I've been looking at Dresden's 'Conquer anywhere' mod and trying to limit its scope somewhat - specifically on this occasion I just want the vampire counts to be able to take or re-colonise the norse territories - but once I understand what I'm doing I'll feel free to change more stuff as/when I need it. Unfortunately I can't seem to make sense of which tables do what, I've tried making what look like obvious changes - removing lines that reference greenskins/dwarfs/humans etc and leaving in stuff that references vamps/norse but I have to admit I'm stumped as nothing I do seems to work.

Anyone able to shed some light on which tables need to be edited?

The way I worked with this for my mod (adding additional settlement types), you'll need to make two settlement superchains (normal and coastal) and then in building_chains, point to the superchains. In slot_templates, you'll set up the slots needed, and then link the two with slot_template_to_building_superchain_junctions. Then modify start_pos_region_slot_templates to point to the new slots you set up. (Technically, you can use the slots already set up, just make sure there are appropriate slots for the various resources). Hopefully that helps point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the tip Jack, I was able to cobble together something that seems to be working.

For anyone else who might be interested I'd check out a couple of mods by stompie5 that allow specific factions to settle the whole map. There is also obviously the 'conquer anywhere' mod by dresden but this didn't suit my purposes as giving everyone the ability to go everywhere all the time does bugger the feel of the lore a bit, "I" might be up for taking on the world but I'd rather the Dawi stick to reclaiming their holds rather than carving out the heart of the empire.

Anyway, In addition to the building_chain tables you also need to change some stuff in a couple of campaign_group_member tables too, I'd explain in detail but honestly I don't fully understand what to do from scratch myself - I've mostly just trial & error'd it while taking apart the aforementioned other mods. You would also need to sort out the garrisons in building_level_armed_citizenry_junctions_tables.

Asking this question here. Can someone tell me, a complete dummy how to enable empire or vampire factions to actually conquer norscan land?Like a detailed walkthrough would be appreciated, but a basic gist would suffice.

I too would be keen to learn more about this. I would like to implement a "everyone can do outposts" mod but quite frankly - there are a lot of tables in dresdens mod - and I have no idea what the relationship is between them all. If theres a simple breakdown of how building tables are related- I would love to be pointed that way!

It's been a while since I looked at this and I didn't have a good grasp on it to begin with - best I can suggest is to download a mod like this one ( http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=728339834 ) or something similar, look at the tables involed and try to reverse-engineer it.

Thanks Crux, I am in fact taking a peek at that very mod! It's interesting though because its implementation appears different to the way WE outposts have been added. Trying to reverse engineer both & hoping it gives me some insight!
