changing hoplite phalanx into basic spear

I used to be able to do this but its been forever since I did any modding in RTW.

would someone kindly remind me of how to take a basic greek hoplite and make him use a basic spear (IE triarii)

just an example of the hoplite will do I can add to other units from there.

also is it possible to use an existing model (hoplite again) and make his only weapon a sword?

1. open up the export_descr_units file find the unit you want to change (cntrl f) and remove the word phallanx.

in the tutorials section there is a piece on long and short spears ( I'm on a crap work comp so i can't go find it for you right now)

2. no, you would have to edit the model, (remove the spear/primary weapon)
