    Default Medieval 2 won't launch

    Hello all,
I've been playing the Divide and Conquer submod for the Third Age mod. I hadn't installed anything or changed any settings, at least that I can remember, and now when I try to launch Med 2 from Steam, nothing happens. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling from the Steam interface and vanilla Med 2 won't launch. I click play Med 2 (from the selection of Kingdoms expansions), another small steam window opens up (so briefly I cannot see what is on it) and then nothing happens. When I open task manager it doesn't say that any Med 2 programs are running under programs or processes.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Download and install my Bare Geomod modding set up (small download) and then start it with the desktop shortcut. If that doesn't work then you have a steam based problem.

Also go through this tutorial from step 3 onward and delete the medieval 2 total war directory in the virtual store if it is present.

Do I need to install both Kingdoms 2.4 and Med 1.11?

The 1.1 patch is the version Med2 comes with in earlier versions. Never heard of kingdoms 2.4 unless it's a modification.
