Romano-British too easy??

I've only just started a campaign as the Romano-British, and I've found that the Alan horsearchers are absolute cheat units.
Spamming missiles at the enemy then finishing what's left of them with the main body of troops = victory in an offensive battle. They just stand still taking all the arrows, dying etc and move around a bit until my infantry/cavalry start advancing.
Is this kind of AI behaviour normal for them?

Yes it is very easy! Normally the Brits should have only one or two regions and the rest to be rebels, and of course to have weak militias with only a few cavalry units. In my version I have reduced the power of the Romano-British.
