Default I made a bunch of Historical Battle save games for the English Civil War using the FKoC mod

I made a bunch of Historical Battle save games for the English Civil War and the FKoC mod. I have very little idea of how to mod Total War, so I was not able to make true scripted Historical Battles in the same way as what comes in the game. I can't get the Battle Editor to work within any mod. What I did was create my own 3D maps using vanilla Total War Battle Editor that try to get close to terrain of historical English battlesites. Then set up Custom Battles save games within 'For King or Country' with lists that should be close to who were at the battle.

Note: for Steam users, I got "For King or Country" to work with Steam by doing what this forum post said. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...Update-Crashes
Note: When I first started up "For King or Country" I never saw any units when I tried to start a Custom Battle. It took me forever to figure out that you have to change the drop-down box for 'Period' to say 'All'. Since there are no units in the 'Early' period.

If you download these two files.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/48g8r6do7n...ustom.zip?dl=1

    To install:
    1. unzip all the files and folders within "FKoC Custom.zip" and place them in ..\Medieval II Total War\for_king_or_country\custom
    2. unzip all the files and folders within "FKoC data world maps custom.zip" and place them in ..\Medieval II Total War\for_king_or_country\data\world\maps\custom

    Then to play,
    1. startup 'For King or Country'.
    2. Go to Single Player -- Custom Battle
    3. Choose "Load Previous Battle"
Then you'll see a list of the custom battles such as "1642 Battle of Edgehill"
    4. Load it, then keep clicking on the "Next" button until the game starts.

I recommend playing on 50% speed, since the battles get chaotic. You can do this by pressing "Shift" when clicking the speed buttons.

Also, don't forget you can force your musketeers or horse arqubus missile units to physically charge instead of shooting by holding down "ALT" when clicking on an enemy.

    Background:
England was protestant, ever since Henry the VIII got a divorce, so he could marry Anne Boleyn and her 'pritty duckys'. King Charles I was a little too friendy with the Catholics though, and married a Catholic. People were pretty angry about the fact that if something happened to him, the Queen would be Catholic. England also just came out of the Thirty Years' War, and thought Charles let down the Protestants who fought in that war.

    List of the battles:
    1640 Battle of Newburn Ford
While not officially the English Civil War, the battle led to the Civil War. King Charles tried to impose a new prayer book on the Scottish, who did not like it one bit. The Scottish Covenanters and came down to Newburn and were going to cross the river. King Charles gave orders to

I cant figure out how to edit a post I made either so to continue...
    1640 Battle of Newburn Ford
The Scotitsh Covenantors led by David Leslie (a 30 Year War veteran under Gustavus Adolphus) came down to Newburn to cross the river at the two Fords. King Charles gave orders to Edward, Lord Conway not to let them cross under any circumstances. They laid into each other with cannons, the Scottish rout

    1642 Battle of Edgehill
The battle of Edgehill, on Sunday 23rd October 1642, saw the army of the Earl of Essex, the parliamentarian Lord General, and King Charles' army clash in the first major action of the Civil War in England. They fought on a large hill outside the town of Edgehill. A "Pitched Battle"

    1642 Battle of Powick Bridge
A Cavalry clash between the superior Royalist Cavalry under Prince Rupert vs the Parliamentarians. Total War and its limits, does not seem quite up to doing the cavalry skirmish justice.

    1643 Battle of Lansdown

    1643 Battle of Roundway Down
Fight around a bunch of hills, there's was even a steep hill lots of cavalry dell down into and died, called the Bloody Ditch. Captain Richard Atkyns famously tried chasing and shooting at Sir Arthur Hesilrige, who was wearing such thick armor his shots couldn't even penetrate. That armor and its creases gave his troop the name "Hesilrige’s Lobsters" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_lobsters

    1644 Battle of Marston Moor
The largest battle to ever take place on English soil.

    1645 Battle of Naseby
The battle most people say proved the winner of the English Civil War, the Parliamentarians. Oakey and his Dragoons crept up hidden on one side of a hedge. I tried to model the hedge, but with a ruined wall.
