    HELLO , I NEED HELP WITH SOME STRAT GENERALīS MODELS ...



    I CHECKED ALL VERTICES ARE ASSIGNED TO THE SKELETON
    THE MODEL HAVE 2825 VERTICES
    4313 TRIANGLES
    9 GROUPS

    ALL GROUPS HAVE THIS COMMENT : 1 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.0

    CAN HELPME ?

    Some vertices are certainly wrongly assigned. Are you following this tutorial? There is a downloadable PDF file with pictures at the bottom of the opening post.

    All vertices are assigned correctly.What I am not clear is the following:What comments should the groups bring?

    I can't convert the CAS model back, neither with the old python converter nor with GOAT. The milkshape model is missing the model comment with the texture's path, group comments are fine. Vertices assignment appears OK on a quick glance, but I would suggest to redo the assignment - there are several areas where the assignment overlaps, eg hand joints, shoulder. I am guessing you assigned via selecting the group instead of doing it manually.

    First assign the whole model to the cloak bottom joint - then start assigning to the correct joints. Once finished check if the cloak joint still has assigned vertices by selecting the cloak joint and clicking 'SelAssigned' - this will show all vertices still assigned to the joint.

    Yes, that's the entry required for the model comment - guess you may not have saved it before converting the milkshape model?

    The only way you will get distortions like this is a mis-assigning of the vertices. One single wrong assignment is sufficient. I will try to get some time and then re-assign the vertices.

    I have tried to re-assign but ended up with the same twisted model. I did notice that you had a joint named 'particle_01' - something that's not supposed to be there. But then not using it like the cloak joints should make that immaterial, but then I wasn't able to convert with the old converter from Knight Errand even after adjusting the comments for it's use (had to use GOAT with your comments), something that hasn't happened before.

    I am afraid someone with more model knowledge then me will have to have a look into it, there is a possibility that the use of a non standard skeleton (for strat models) may be causing this problem.

    Edit: nope, exporting the model as OBJ and importing on a working strat model had the same result. The animation looks as if the hand with the banner is linked to the foot, same on the other side. It's not the case where the assignment is concerned - no stray, unassigned vertices either.
