I'm in the middle of patch b/ campaign? will it crash at turn 253 or is it only with patch c/ et d/ that it occurs?

still man this is very odd. I skipped the 2.2d patch but I suppose there was nothing there as well.
Anyway upkeep costs halved? Thats huge. You can basically start stockpiling money from the very first turns. That's horrible. I'm pretty sure many love EB for its very challenging campaign. It might be correlated with increased number of starting armies but I don't like where its going. Doesn't feels like EB anymore.

Well, I dont mind it, not at allThat would make AI launch invasions with more full-stack armies.
2.2e is definitely different. The AI seems to blitzing the rebels. I'm only on turn 25 and Eiperos is already at the top of the Adriatic on the eastern side. Makedonia has gone north. The greeks beat Makedonia to Byzantium. I've never seen that before. Carthage quickly went for Messana. However, the script pop up seemed to not make a lot of sense. I'm playing Rome but the script made it seem as if I caused the war even though it was Carthage. We made peace and the script warning popped up again after we were at peace and after Carthage already had Messana.
Looking forward to the new 2.2e: I think I should be able to double my standing armies (like the ai) so there should hopefully be more conflict at least around the peripheries of the factions even if the centres are undermanned.

P.
Thanks for halving the upkeep costs! You folks really don't know how grateful I am for this!.
The extra mnai will help players to build up by peaceful means in the early campaign, instead of having to rely on conquest to feed the empire-making machine. That way they, myself included, will be far LESS agressive to the infant, defenseless AI, leading to an overall more enjoyable and more challenging mid-to-late campaign.
BRAVO!

these changes are anything else but "early campaign PEACEFULLY build orientated". If thats your style of playing thats other thing. Its not that you couldn't have done that in the previous version. Ofc you were forced to go for one or 2 settlements just from the start but that was pretty much all about the agressiveness. In the next turns you just wait for your financial balanced to be leveled-up than start slowly building up. Now you have more starting armies and a Huge dispense from upkeeping burden and you say this isnt per-se at least as incentive as it was previously to play agressively? I also read here that AI is also expanding way faster so dont know where all this hype of you came from. Pretty sure this is more about testing its impact or at least I hope so otherwise this doesnt feel EB-ish at all.
My game crashes on startup. Here's what the log says:
