Default How do the Aetolian League and other horde factions with permanent settlements work?

I remember seeing a screenshot of the Aetolians having having a town, and I know for fact that they're a horde and that the real region capital is held by the Akaians. My questions is, how do these factions that are hordes but have "towns" work? Do the settlements disappear once you conquer them? Do you acquire them and they stay the same, but you get menagement over them? Do you get to build builfdings you build in normal towns? And scenes?

I hope that's not too many questions, and that they're easy to answer. If it's a secret... well then... don't keep us in suspense.

Good luck with the campaign, take your time, as far as I see it's going to turn out great

Until we have more time to think up more interesting and immersive solutions, they are simply hordes that cannot move unless controlled by the player, at least as far as I am aware. There may be some more to this but I'd have to get ABH or Hardballer to talk to you about that.

I'd like to hear more, too, because this is the first I'm hearing about this. They're 'hordes that can't move'? How will they conquer things? Is this a clever way to add more psuedo-settlements to the game when the engine won't let you?

We aren't surely sure how we'll do it yet, hence why they just crash right now. Last I heard we were going to remove the action points so it simply couldn't move. The idea was never really solid, we just know we want to do 'something' with them. If we could make the horde immobile but spawn armies I think that is what we wanted. Obviously if it takes territory then they disappear but we're working with what we have here :/

nice! i was busting .mitchs (MitchCA) balls about that last modding summit, when he was the live liason between this forum and the summit,
i actually specifically suggested ways to use immobile horde mode as a way to add settlements to the map.
At the time there were rumors of both the map being moddable and two great walls on the map being in , who should appear on the map ,
but it seems both features turned out to be disappointing.
