I have been trying to enable the function to disable the battle limitation, but do get a fatal error message as i try to execute the exe file. Anyone knows how that properly works ?

very strange, it isn't happening to me. I don't know what to tell you tbh.
Ive change the cfg file, i do see the reinforcements on the map now from start and dont get a message but they dont come until i loose at least 4 units or so and still they need almost forever while the ai seems to get its reinforcements from start, usually not a big problem but try to fight 2 full stacks of mongols with just one of yours![]()
I might know what causes it. Before the battle is the cpu-control option checked in the screen where you see the forces participating etc.? By checking/ unchecking the box you can select if you want to control the reinforcements or if you want the AI to control them. If you choose the first option (by leaving the box unchecked) you will be limited to 20 units and reinforcements will arrive only if you lose full units. If you choose the second option the reinforcements will enter the battle all at once but you will have no control over them.
I hope this solves your problem.
Yeah, even if you have Unlimited Soldiers on the field, if you check the AI box, you won't be able to field mroe than 20 units at a time on the field. It's a slightly flawed mechanic, but it's better than nothing
The idea of giving troops to my AI to manage is so much worse IMO, its better to play badly outnumbered!

I thought that the limitation was restricted, due to graphic card's ability?
Yeah sometimes they can be pretty bad (I've had a suicidal general once). It's weird how CA managed to make sure your allies and reinforcements are just geared towards being more retarded, but that's how it is. Everytime I have reinforcements, they tend to not do something stupid. Sometimes I think about doing a campaign where I can control only one of my generals at a time, making each of his battles all the more critical for the empire.
Would be interesting, but how would you go about that?Sometimes I think about doing a campaign where I can control only one of my generals at a time, making each of his battles all the more critical for the empire.
