CTD at custom battle screen

I keep getting a CTD when I click on 'custom battle' from the main menu. I have re-installed everything fresh and am not using any other mods but this keeps happening. Any ideas what might be causing this?

This occurs when for some reason the last remembered Custom battle options are something that doesn't work. You need to go to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly and delete the folder named Attila, this will reset all your settings, including your graphics unfortunately, but it will fix the crash.

There is another option that doesn't involve deleting settings - you can go into vanilla Attila and start a custom battle that won't crash the game. I've found that Charlemagne is the thing that causes the most problems.
