Thread: [Submod] Historical Family System (Rome & Carthage)

Default [Submod] Historical Family System (Rome & Carthage)

    Historical Family System

    Information - http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...-Family-System

Note: This is designed to be used with the base mod at 4TPY in the grand campaign. There are other TPY options for the Rome/Carthage submods. The 1TPY changes the turn spawns so there will be characters a lot more often. For the main historical characters in the main mod, the TPY submods for the main mod include changed tables so they should have proper spawning dates.

    Rome/Carthage Submods

*Choose ONLY ONE of these depending on which family you are going to play. For Rome, the families have replaced the normal DeI political parties.

Lucky me I'm barely 8 turns into a macedon campaign. Definitely trying the submod right away.

Probably not, this is a player only system. Dilemmas are based on player interaction and thats the only way to spawn in guaranteed characters.

If anyone has tried this out, please let me know if characters properly spawn when they are supposed to. There was one report in the preview thread that its not working properly so if anyone else is having the issue let me know please, thanks!

Edit - also please include if you are trying with a save or new game.

    Good news thanks

I also did some tests with a save game and it seemed to work there too.

I also tested this in my Pergamon and Taksashila campaigns (both newly started with the mod) and it worked fine. I do wish the characters that spawned had some extra special strengths or attributes though (perhaps based on the real historical characters?) so that we would have characters that we would really look forward to.

I know - I wanted to make it so that they have special traits, etc. Maybe "son of X" or whatever. But from what I can tell the table that assigns traits to them doesn't work. I will see if I can test it more.

Its probably because of the TPY submod. I will have to make special updates for those submods to have the proper ages for these guys.

Edit - for those wondering, their ages are set before they spawn in the historical characters table. You have to take the year they are going to spawn and then subtract that from 753 (the baseline date in the game, from which all other dates are decided). Then you make a spawn window match that. So, there is some math involved.

For example, lets say its 4TPY like in the base mod. The character is going to spawn 56 turns into the game. So, 56/4 means he will spawn 14 years into the game. The GC mod starts in 278 BC, so he is spawning at 264 BC (278-264). So, his spawn window is 265 to 263. The settings in the table have to be 753- 265, so the table would be a window of 488 to 490. If its 12TPY that would be 56/12 so around 4 years in. 274 bc means he has a spawn window of 275 to 273, or 478 to 480. Since thats 10 off, its probably why he spawned 10 years too young.

Yes its confusing, trust me I know I had to do it for 265 characters in the mod

If you want to change an existing character's age, you need to edit the save game and find that character in your faction. He should have a date for his age.

can you teach me how to edit character age[current campaign] with EditSF?

i think there's age value thing in Faction_Array. but i don't know specifically. [ can't see there names(name 1~4 block whatever things] only guess with trait things]

and i know how to make year of history with 12 turns. it's just change value in lua_scripts - world - 4turn to 12 turns.. this is so easy thing to change.

Edit : i knew way to find out edit age with saveparser!
