Added some long-overdue photos of the tier 2 unique units. Also excuse the weird formatting, the TWC page editor hates me and I spent a solid 30 minutes removing chains of spoilers it felt necessary to clutter my preview with so, i'm done for the moment
Still, enjoy some hasty screenshots and expect a big uptick in Mongol related activity from me for the next few weeks (i'd be expecting something a bit...shiny on the horizon if you like faction previews)
Hello.
Could I have the code to remove the war mist from the MAP of attila total war
Tier 3 assets are piling up nicely, here is a look at a possible tier 3 swordsman with a new brigantine-like (I've made 5 variations) pattern:

very nice
Some Tier 3 screenshots, lots of new armors and helmets in the mix:

Looks great! Some suggestions though:
1. Add Chest Disc on some of them
2. Give the Brigandine/Kazaghand-wearing units Persian plate vambraces (or mail sleeves, but this means chopping their arm model / putting alpha on the arm textures, then add available mail sleeve model; or retexturing the model again)

You're a genius dude.
Beautiful suprisingly colourful interpretation of the mongols

It's been much more difficult than expected making some much-deserved banners for the Ilkhanate, if only because every time I have created a set of flag designs I find that my chosen shape was somehow inaccurate upon browsing some new period art. Its been happening a lot. I'm honestly resigned to having some inaccurate flag shapes only out of exhaustion. Banners don't seem to be as easy for some weird reason as....well, everything else.
Anyways, here are some of my first set, ignore the floating flags on the first five, they won't appear like that ingame:

Every design except for a few detail differences here and there are based on specific banners as portrayed in various 15th and 14th century images. These are all for tiers 2 and 3, since tier 1 requires the infamous Tug banner (the horsetail umbrella-thingy), which we are still working on.
The effort pays off, they look the part. ^^ Really unique stuff.

Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga- The pranks played on the knight Jean de Joinville, 1249, 7th crusade.I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

Tier 3 visually requires a lot more new work than tiers 1 and 2, so even after adding a lot of new assets there still is room for more models. Planned additions include custom turcoman tunics hopefully, as well as the Tug banner, more Persian banners and helmets as well as a few new Chinese style models and weapons for select units where relevant.
My hope is to finally let the Ilkhanate loose in the january update but that is still a hope for now, and as well the extent of the faction released to the public. Whether it is only parts of the roster or all 3 tiers and the finished Golden Horde units. We'll see. Its about how all my work falls together.

O am ded ed
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

I would suggest to remove the helmets from tier 3 that resemble spangen helmet construction. Have them look closer to the one piece helmets, or resemble the look of chichaks.
Very nice units and gear![]()
Got fed up with my first group of banners, decided to do them right. Made some new models and some more detailed textures, here's my favorite:

Its based on one of the flags from this image from a Persian Shahnameh:

That...is really something else.
And very awesome ofcourse!
Oh I am an idiot, just focused on the name "Mongol" and left out in my brain "Ilkhanate". So please ignore my comment about Kublai Khan and chinese and foot soldiers etc.
Regarding gunpowder weapons, we have plans to include everything devious from China. Everything from rocket launchers to grenades to firelances to cannons to Guan Yu's glaive.
