roman general units in grand campaign?
ok so i drunkenly fought a Parthian (me) vs Rome (Augustan) battle and instead of choosing Caesar/Augustus as generals i chose the imperial legate... now the battle went normal, my foot/horse archers raining down upon the roman legionaiires.. but i noticed the roman general which was rather gimp 12 units(on medium unit sized) charge one of my foot archer units, and when i switch my foot archers to melee mode, they decimated the roman general (because of numerical superiority). i was wondering in grand campaign are the romans always gonna have gimp general units (numerically)? i understand with few exceptions (being caesar/aggripa) roman generals tended to not jump into the fray. but in the grand campaign is the AI going to use its generals rather wastefully??
P.S. im wasted so i dont know if anything i just said made sense. have a dozen shots on tequila and then answer the question

Re: roman general units in grand campaign?
It depends on the period, for the imperial period you'll have the option of a 25 man legate unit, the plus side is the cost is much less than a full size cavalry unit.
AE Dev, mainly units
