Default Carthago Aedificanda Est (Colony RP)

So the day had finally come. After spending time in Rome, dealing with the bill, and in Utica, dealing with administrative matters of the province, the Proconsul had made his way into the ruins of Carthage. There a colony he would stablish and once again the Capital of the worst enemies of Rome would rise, but this time, inhabited by Romans.

A crowd had gathered for the founding ceremony: Milo had made sure a priest of Janus was brought from Rome to lead the procedure. He wanted the city to be consacrated to the God of beginnings, as it only seemed fit for such enterprise. After the prayers had been made, a big sacrifice was to take place: At the makeshift altar, 50 rams, Janus' preferred offering, were to be slaughtered in his name in order to be on his good side.

OoC: So this is the Colony rp, here I will try to develop all the matters regarding the Carthage colony.
    Current task:
Finish the ceremony with the sacrifices.

As Janus had no specialized Flamen the rex sacrorum did the ceremonies preformed for Janus. As the day progressed and the Rams were slaughtered the representative of rex sacrorum. He said "Hmm I see I see." Reading the signs I would say your venture is..." Adding a dramatic pause before the rex sacrorum continues. "Truly blessed by the gods!"

Not sure if I need to do this but: Rolled a D20, above 10 is pro, below against. Rolled 13.
Also I'm not one for huge chunks of posts so I hope this is okay.

"You see fellow Romans! The gods look favourably upon us! Surely this endeavour cannot fail." Milo said and smiled at the audience "Now that the religious ceremony is done, let us feast and drink merrily. For we have much work to do in the coming days, weeks and months, but tonight we celebrate. To Rome! To Janus! To Carthago!"

The crowd cheered and a small feast started. There were not many people now, but the Proconsul was sure that Carthage would once again rise to be the metropolis it once was, but this time, answering to Republic.

A few days afterwards, Milo was gathered with the Greek architect he had hired, several of the colonists and some locals. He wished to hear their advice as he prepared to divide the ager publicus from the ager privatus and establish the city limits

A man only known as Alexios turns up at the meeting. He introduces himself as the architect.

"Salve Pro-consul" He said. Waiting for the pro-consul to reveal what he wants.

"Ave, hellen. I've been told you are the finest architect this side of the Mediterranean, which is why I require services."

The Proconsul then showed the Greek some plans:

"These are my plans for this city. Do you believe them possible? It imitates the Roman colonies in Italy. The ground here might even be more suitable, as it is all plains and no hills, unlike my homeland."

"You honor me pro-consul. I would be gladly employed by you."

The greek strokes his beard while looking at the pro-consuls plans

"The city plan looks fine sir. However Carthage used to rely heavily on their port. Yet these plans do not include a port sir?"

"You bring up a fair subject. Carthage's port was a great engineering feat, do you believe we may be able to replicate it? I do not want it to be massive, as we are barely taking our baby steps as a city."

The pro-consul signalled a slave and the man brought another scroll with a drawing of the Carthaginian docks:

"The inner circle was used as a military harbor. I believe it to be unnecessary for now, but the first part, that big rectangle, used to be the commercial port. Which is what we should aim to rebuild."

The greek had a nag for storking his beard so he continued to do so.

"For about 20.000 denarri all these plans can be done sir."

20,000 denarii. Milo raised his eyebrows when he heard the number, but mantained the calm.

"I will gladly pay that money if you include the construction of a temple dedicated to Janus in the pricetag."

OoC: Just so we are clear, I'm talking about a Tier 1 building

"I wouldn't call it simple, hellen. Just the foundation for a bigger one in the future."

Proconsul Milo nodded. He was glad he had at least layed the foundations for the colony, considering his term was close to ending.

"May this city become what it once was."
