    Default install wrong?

    I just downloaded spqr and after extracting all the files no icons showed up on my desktop I did a search and a whole bunch of spqr stuff showed up but nothing about starting the game and I have the rome total war eras version I dont know if this means anything.

    There is no desktop icon.You need to go to the RTW directory or wherever you installed to mod to. Mine is

    C:/Program Files/Activision/Rome Total-War

    In your RTW folder just run the game from the .exe in there(the game icon).
    Be sure you have changed your preferences to FIRST TIME PLAY:FALSE

    What I did was rename the RTW folder to SPQR so any other mods loaded to RTW are do not overwrite my SPQR mod.

    You use the normal RTW.exe so if you have an RTW icon on your desktop USE it. lol

    If you want it to look like a SPQR icon you can manually do that from the SPQRReadme folder.

    Maybe you installed RTW to c:\Program Files\Creative Assembly and SPQR to c:\Program Files\Activision?

    That could well be the problem because when SEGA took over the TW series the install was creating new folders. I have the old version that ceates the Activision folder which is where Lt has it pointed to.

    @philip

    Before you install point the install directory to where imphet says... C:\Program Files\Creative Assembly\Rome-Total War.

    Sorry, things are different for the TW eras, just found this out.

    I've played this mod before, but on a old computer and I just got a new comp so I hope spqr can take it to the max. and what I am doing is that I am downloading it the I get to the spot where you can select the spot you want to install it at, I have tried both creative assembly and activision and I get the samething, after it extracts all the files the page goes away and then nothing happens so I then click on the rtw icon and it just takes me to normal rtw. and thanks for being so helpful.

    The way I open is to go to the SPQR folder in the program files and open from the icon in there. Some times if you open from the desktop icon of from the CD you are targeted to vanilla.

    I have just dld this mod and having the same problem. There is no icon that you guys are mentioning. I have darthmod and armerial war for medi 2 and they both have there own executables inside the game folder. There is none here. I can see all the files are there. I've tried the automatic install, since then I've tried just copying and overwriting the rome data file but I still get taken to vanilla RTW.

    Ok, just solved it after thrashing around . I have 2 different locations for the same game, is that normal? I have Program Files- RTW and another under Activision-RTW. Anyways, it's working atm, and looks very good. Time for some headbashing methinks .
