Pius raises a fleet.

Quintus Caecilius Metellus Pius, after reading his brother's letter about the fleet disaster off Crete heads to Rhodes to hire a fleet and marines to deal with the pirates and rescue whatever men he can find.
Upon securing birth in the wonderful harbor. He heads to magistrate's office and looks to secure a fleet.

"Greetings Captain. I am Quintus Caecilius Metellus." He is wearing his toga praetexta with its purple borders. "I need to raise a large fleet with marines to clean up some pirates off of Crete." He announces.
I will need Liburna, Quinqueremes, Triremes, and Hexarems"

"Having some issues with the brigands, eh? I'm not surprised, you Romans have always been inept at seafariring." He said with a derisive laugh. "I suppose that as allies we could offer aid, for a nominal fee."

"Of course, you will be well compensated. Rhodes has enjoyed Friend and Ally status for many years, and you have the best ships and captains and marines around. " Quintus smiled.
I was thinking something along the lines of 5 Hexes, 10 Triremes, 20 Quinces, and 10 Liburna with 1500 marines"

"25,000 ? Would you do 20,000 and you can keep all the captured ships you seize?" Metellus countered. Iulus would be in debt for him for years after what he had to go through to same his shame from Roman ears.

Quintus Caecilius takes his hired fleet of 5 Hexes, 10 Triremes, 20 Quinces, and 10 Liburna with 1500 marines with the 10 Quinces and 9 triremes left over from Iulus initial flleet and sets sail for Crete, searching out the pirate fleet
