Spears are too much long?

As title said, those spears are too much long and very hard to use if you are also have shield on one hand....

Which? There's a few different models used in the game, but most are about 8-9 foot which was the length of spears used then, they have a spike on the bottom end which acts as a counter weight. Many units in AE also use much shorter spears (we've actually given them the javelin model as their spear) as well. The advantages of spears are their length though so it makes sense for them to be long.
