    Default Tower of London

The Tower of London was originally built as "The White Tower" by William the Conqueror, a royal residence and a visible symbol of the Norman King's power over London. Over time, it has evolved into a multi functional building; it is used to detain important prisoners of noble blood, but it is also used as a retreat for members of the royal family when London itself is under threat. Currently, it is also where the royal mint and treasury is housed. The affairs of the Tower of London are managed by the Constable of the Tower, who is appointed by the King's decree- he oversees the garrisoning of the Tower as well as the "wellbeing" of the prisoners.

    Constable of the Tower:
George de Newselles, 1st Viscount Newselles

    Notable prisoners are currently :

    Margaret Percy
    Eleanor Plantagenet
    Cecily Plantagenet
    Henry Plantagenet

Queen Margaret was sitting on her knees in a dark room, humiliated and broken, the room was so cold, like snow on human skin, for the first time she felt truly naked, alone with just god and memories of the past she knelled with her arms trying to warm her body, those evil guards even deprived the Queen of her clothes leaving only a small blanket around her skin, it was even more humiliating that her guards laughed at her when she had shed tears for Lord Beaufort, he was death, her favorite. It was so cold she thought, it would be her death she knew, she tried to warm her by sitting in a dark corner with her blanket covering her naked body. If she only would have stayed in France she thought, she sat here for days alone, it was unbearable to be so lonely without Beaufort, her son, husband, father or her long deceased mother. She would go insane if this continued, she needed to talk with someone while she was awaiting her final judgement by the lords. She tried to call the guards,

I..., i..., i need to speak, can you please, please atleast show a woman the respect she deserves and get her a cleric to seek spiritual comfort?

Parliament came to an end and Francis headed towards the Tower visiting Queen Margaret. After having some difficulty with the tower guards he was reluctantly allowed in to see the Queen

Upon entering Margaret's room Francis saw a broken and humiliated woman sitting in a corner with just a small blanket covering her body. Margaret did not know how many days she had spend here, it looked ages to her. Margaret sat with er arms crossing her body to get some warmth in this cold room and was horribly afraid of visitors at the same time, would the visitor bring word of a death penalty?. Poor Margaret only dared to look at the man when he came close, her eye's gazing upon the man until she realized he was a cleric coming to support her, yet Margaret stumbled upon her words for she had not spoken for weeks as she could only shed tears for Beaufort and the loss of husband and son. But she tried to speak to the man nonetheless.

Please, please, sit next to me so i can warm my body, for it is freezing to death

When Francis sat down Margaret would embrace Francis' body as the only source of warmth, she looked humble and terrified in Francis' eye's

I have made many mistakes, i.., i.. deeply regret them.

Francis was deeply saddened by the sorry state of the former Queen, it was something he'd have to speak to the King about. it was chilly and Francis didn't have much on him besides his clerical costume and an overcoat, and yet he felt compelled to give the former queen his overcoat.

There, there my child, it will all be over soon. I have tried to speak to the King on your behalf but he is stubborn in his decision, you are to be executed quietly and swiftly which is a relief in its own way. You don't have to suffer a public execution nor will you be hung, drawn, and quartered. Be happy in your thoughts that the Kings judgement is not Gods judgement and that you may still have a place amongst in heaven.

Damn this cold, Guards!!! Build a fire, you wouldn't let a man of God freeze on such a cold night as these.

The Queen bursts out in tears upon hearing her death sentence, the once proud and powerful queen who has been tamed is now to be killed, but she looked with a saddened but friendly face to the cleric.

He has dared to do it, to a queen, it is horrible, to be separated from my son eternally. she mumbled before shedding new tears.

The queen was so saddened like a mother that lost her child before taking the overcoat

You are too kind for me, for i have made many many mistakes, i... i.. am so sorry for all of this.

The queen stared into Francis' eye's

If it really has to happen then i need final confession and i want to make a final request.

Francis attempted to comfort Margaret with thoughts of life everlasting

fear not my child, this life is merely the key which opens the doors of life everlasting amongst the heavens.

Of course I shall hear your confession, my child but what is thine request?

Hastings calls him in. He stands up when he enters.

So, Exeter, when can I be expected to die? How long was your plot in the works?

"Not yet, dear Hastings. Not at all, if it can be helped. But you must be compliant with what I say." Exeter began, licking his lips as he gestured for the servants to fetch some comforts for the Earl.
"I wish for you to tell me the extent of Norfolk's influence at court. I do not wish to be misled into thinking you are a traitor if this is not true.

Norfolk had made himself the King in all but name, thanks to Exeter's efforts. But Exeter himself had gained little, other than a few empty titles.

Hastings calms down a bit. He doesn't know if Exeter really is playing both sides or not, but he has nothing to lose. He speaks:

Exeter, look, I gave the King advice, yes. Did I want to fight at Wallingford and have a bigger role? Sure. I was disappointed to stay behind in London, but not enough to harm the King. I watched over his family and yours. Personally, I even had mixed feelings on the Queen's execution. The laws of chivalry forbid such an act, but she did try to have him killed, and if it was him or even me who was captured, I am sure no mercy would have been given.

Now, Norfolk, from what I know, has spoken to Edward all the time, to the point I believe Edward grew lazy. He only focused on military matters and became lazy in the political arena, thus, his incompetence in that regard. The King is not an stupid man, but was just played on due to his young age.

Exeter, remember, it was the King who had you spared. He actually trusted you more then some of the others he spared he told me, and I'm not saying that now because I am captured. Please, lets end this. My knight, Moody, only Lord knows where he is at. For all I know he's seeking protection some place or maybe already captured by Norfolk's agents, I don't know. Exeter, lets stop Norfolk. I don't care how we have to do it, but lets do it. What if France invades again? Then what? Who is going to lead the troops?

And what about the Queen? Do you not think Edward will march at some point to rescue his wife? If any harm is done to her, God help you all.

"My Lord Hastings, calm yourself. The Queen is safe from any danger, at the home of my sister-in-law, the King's own flesh and blood." Exeter responded with a concerned frown. "Ah, I see. And Norfolk has taken the mantle of Lord Protector, blaming you for the King's errors. What do you make of that?"

I think that is rubbish. Pure and utter rubbish. I have done nothing of the kind. I haven't been around the King nearly as much as Norfolk has, and Norfolk has no evidence to prove otherwise. I am being set up.

You're right there, Hastings. But so is Norfolk. "A set up? You think the Lord Protector framed you for these crimes?" Exeter looked aghast, as if someone had broken news of a sudden death in the family. "So you believe Norfolk is the real criminal? The mismanager of the realm? This is a very serious accusation."

Yes. Why do you think the King is always asking him for advice and mistakes keeping happening?

"In truth, I didn't know, good Earl." Henry said, scratching the dark stubble that formed at his chin. "This is disturbing news. I shall have to dwell on it, and bring all evidence into account. I thank you for your co-operation." Rising from his seat, the Duke moved towards the exit, indicating that the guards should resume their posts. "I will summon you, should I secure your freedom."

Once more did Holland arrive, though this time he was accompanied by his brother-in-law, the young and dashing Duke of Suffolk. They are admitted to Hastings' chambers, and greet him warmly.

"Good Earl. I have returned, with good Suffolk in tow. He too wishes to hear your tale. Tell nought but the truth, and God shall judge you justly."

Said Suffolk, with a faint smile.

Welcome! Yes, as I told the Duke of Exeter, I believe Norfolk is behind this all. Why do you think the King is always asking him for advice and mistakes keeping happening? Is it any coincidence? Why do you think I was not permitted to command my men at Wallingford and I had to stay behind at London? I didn't have an problem defending our capital, but in hindsight it just doesn't look right. We need an strong leader in London, it's sure not Norfolk. If the King would have listened to me, things would have been better and there would be no infighting like this.
