    I feel a bit sorry for poor Artstudio, the man achieves a nice breakthrough and now everyone's demanding that he models unique cities for several capitals, as well as numerous cultures (and probably several different cities per culture) . While the man is an amazing modder, I think you should probably tone it down to something a bit more "realistic". I think doing 5+ unique cultures are a bit too much work for one modder to complete. Tbh, I would be really impressed if just the "medieval European" culture can be realized, as it's probably a crapload of work to get all that stuff first of all modelled, and then implemented in the game, especially considering the less-than-perfect state of the modding tools.

    I am not demanding different styles for each cultures, all I was trying to say is that different cultures need to be treated equally, for example if you want to divide Europe into 5 cultures than why not do the same to the Africa and the Middle East?

    Personally I am fine with our current system in finix's art.

    You could do that, if the team has the resources to actually achieve it. But more realistically, it's more of a matter of asking the question: "How can the maximum amount of immersion for the player be achieved with the minimum amount of work". And the answer to that depends on what building models are available, for example. Wooden buildings exist already in the game to some degree (although not exactly medieval looking, but better than nothing), which could be used for the "East European" look. I would guess a more achievable goal would be to just divide the map into three basic types: West European cities (Gothic architecture), East European/steppe zone (Byzantine influence, more wooden structures) and the Middle East. Beyond that, I think Byzantine architecture would probably be the highest priority.

    But the point is, that since the resources are limited and the amount of work is massive, it's pretty important to decide what are the absolutely necessary city types that need to be created first. For example, Muslim architecture shares so many elements between regions in terms of building shapes and building materials, that it seems somewhat arbitrary to seek dividing it into various spheres (is there even such a term as a "Medieval North African" architectural school, for example?). However, the European Gothic architecture and Byzantine architecture are quite distinct. Also, in areas where different construction materials were used (such as the East European wooden cities), the cities would look completely different.

    I agree with Charerg, I mean did Artstudio ever ask for all those suggestions xD?

    @Charerg and Filips Augustus
    Yeah, I know, I know...
    I don´t want that Artstudio goes crazy because of work, on the contrary I want to praise him for the absolutely awesome stuff that he has done so far. These are just ideas which could be realized if the man has time, ressources and pleasure to make this happen. So I´m something like a most submissive petitioner.
    To be frank; to realise the regional differences only on campaign map (like in Medieval 2) would be a great pleasure, but then I saw this Rus-city-screenshot and yeah... Hope dies last. ^^

    @Lucem Mundum
    Perhaps it could be more differentiated, but I didn´t want to overdo it (obviously I DID overdo it already ). Furthermore I oriented my suggestion to the Medieval 2-city-style and you may recognize that Islamic architecture has ,regardless the mentioned regiones, (however islamic architecture in Central Afrika or India differs significantly indeed) very similar roots (mostly byzantian and persian architecture) and style elements (domes, arcades, colourful ornaments and gardens which can be found in west and east alike). It´s an own, in closed style with very fine differences - Imo too fine, to show that for example on campaign map cities.
    Orthodox and mostly wooden eastern cities, brickstone-themed nordic cities, romanic/gothic cities from central europe and clearly romanesque mediteranean architecture are showing significant differences. So it´s not a question of equality (I would choose that too), rather a question of what´s representable.

    And I think it´s not as much work as it sounds (besides the custom cities).
    1.Artstudio is doing something similar to the "Central european style" at the moment
    2.one awesome eastern-rus style city (which could be build like Charerg said, with some wood style structures and orthodox buildings) was already made too
    3.similar stuff to mediteranean (Constantinople with catholic churches instead of orthodox ones = nice italian/mediteranean city) or islamic (some little changes here and there, less blue for example) cities are ingame anyway, byzantian architecture ,if necessary, could be adopted completely

    So only nordic style and the representation of regional architecture on campaign map is left!

    I somewhat disagree with islamic. But mostly replace purely Iranic building.
