Thread: Victoria Total War CTD on Startup

Default Victoria Total War CTD on Startup

To play different mods I copied an unmodified Empire folder and installed different mods in those things. The only problem is that while the base game works, none of the mods work. What did I do wrong?

The VTW Launcher requires the mod to be in the normal steam ETW location in order to work properly. If that isn't the case then the user script will think files are present when they aren't, and a crash will ensue. It doesn't matter how many copies of the game you make, they all use the same %appdata% scripts folder. Empire is unlike earlier games in that its much more difficult to get away with having multiple copies on your PC.

So I can't have multiple copies of Empire on my pc, and have them run different mods?

And if there can be only one single mod, it only can be VTW of course
