Default Edward's medical area @ Wallingford

The King is recovering in his tent when his nobles entered it. They all bow and he hears cheers from the distance. They tell him they won a great battle and despite injuries, they did it. They told him about the enemy suffering traitors in their midst and the witch Queen is captured and being brought to him at the moment. However, an messenger rushes in and he is from London. He congratulates the King on his victory but says Earl Hastings brings a message. It is from the north. He says his sister is worried about him, and Percy has betrayed him in the north and Carlisle is at huge risk with Surrey and Moody stationed there. Another message arrives, Desmond has been defeated by Kildare. Edward has mixed feelings. He orders messages to be sent to both London and Carlisle informing both Earls' the outcome of the battle and have one sent to Exeter's force too, hopefully he can join his force in time to move out. He speaks:

Gentlemen! Marvelous work! We did it! We rest now then later, we will march to the north, I will come even in a wagon. We must stop Percy.... I was a fool for trusting him, I am sorry my friends. But for now.... we deal with that witch Queen. I am very proud of everyone of you guys and your men. We must deal with these fools. Plus, I like to meet the men who betrayed the Queen.... because soon we got a date with Percy and the Scots.

    Roll for treatment:
    1-4 requires amputation
5-12 no healing (roll again next week)
    13-17 healed but permanent limp
    18-20 healed perfectly

Roll: 19 (lucky son of a gun )

Kent attended the wounded king, his own arm in a sling following the battle. Hearing Edward's enthusiasm, he chuckled, but chided the young man nonetheless.

"Your Grace, the physicians say you must rest. A cart ride north will do you ill, even if you have recovered well."

John and Hugh Courtenay, the latter with bandages on his head around where he was injured, arrive at the Yorkist camp with an escort of footmen and men at arms. A dozen soldiers in Courtenay livery escort the Red Queen into the Yorkist camp. John requests a meeting with Edward, or if he is unable, the commanders of the Yorkist host.

I guess you're right Earl Kent. I see you are wounded too. I hope it is not to serious.

Edward looks over and sees Courtenay and the Queen on the outside with guards.

Can someone help me over there on an stretcher? I want to talk with them.

"I will live, my King. As will you." Kent nodded, before glancing at Courtenay. "As you wish, sire, but be mindful; the man betrayed his own liege, cut down his own allies. He does not deserve reward or trust, in my opinion." Kent motioned for his retainers to help the king to his feet, with Edward hobbling forward to meet the Earl of Devon.

Edward hobbles over with his bodyguards and Kent by his side. He is beaming from ear to ear.

Hello Earl of Devon.... thank you for bringing me this wonderful present! Hello witch Queen.... so we meet again under new circumstances!

The two Courtenays bow as Edward approaches with his guards and some Yorkist nobles. "The Earl of Devon is not present, your majesty. I am John Courtenay, his brother." "Hugh Courtenay, your majesty." The Courtenay men guarding Margaret stand back to allow Edward's men to take her into Yorkist custody.

Upon seeing the Courtenays the queen went over agressive for they had lost her the battle due to betrayal, spatting upon Courtenay's face and balding her chained hands.

Cowards and betrayers, i should have killed you off long ago, i should have hanged you like the low ranking coward you are, i should.....

The Queen turned back her face to Edward, she could almost not speak anymore from anger and tiredness

The Queen approached Edward with a cold face, she may have lost but she still upholds her dignity high, the queen came closer and closer, chained and still in military dress. what a humiliation she thought, but she would not kneel for this man or bow fr him, she was to proud for this. the Queen stood still just before Edward himself staring him in the eye's, this was a new battle, a battle of two wills.

Chains do not fit a Valois Queen, Edward.

The Duke of Norfolk joined King Edward and the rest of those who had gathered there. He makes a slight bow to Edward, while shooting hateful glances at Margaret.

"Your Grace, I hope that the physicians have done good work on your injury. Victory has been delivered to us, though I guess that since she is here that you already know that."

Norfolk turned to Margaret, his voice filled with spite. An evil grin appeared on his face.

"It has been while since we last met, 'your Grace'. I hope that your captors have not been too rough with you, but maybe I should not lie? I praise the Lord, with you in our hands this damned war is almost over. Once we've destroyed Beaufort up north, England will finally know peace."

The Queen raised her hand to Norfolk meaning the duke should shut up, she didn't even bother to take a look at Edward's pup, such a man is beneath her rank, another man that should have been hanged long ago, that was her only mistake in her reign. she continued to stare in Edwar's eye's, battling her will against his will.

So Edward, are you going to torture a lady, shall you whip a lady, shall you rape and humiliate a lady of Valois blood?

Margaret was afterall a woman of the high nobility, torturing and humiliate such a lady would be the most dishonorable.

    Edward smiles.

Witch Queen, tell me, where did they go, the nobles that escaped? This is your final chance to cooperate.

Margaret frowned at the word ''witch'', she hated that word, even though she liked to spend her scarce free time with alchemy. Margaret still not bowed or knelled and come closer to Edward.

No idea, maybe they head south to France or North to Beaufort, i don't know. And i want to be called just 'Queen' and not ''witch queen'. Now what is my fate?

A still blood-spattered Cambridge was present among the lords, though for once in his life he didn't say much. Instead he simply regarded the French Queen with a hateful glare; as far as he was concerned this was the woman who, after all, had induced foreign powers to invade English soil for her husband's false claim, forced the shedding of the blood of thousands of good Englishmen, and to cap it all off attempted to dishonorably murder the man who now held her life in his hands - truly God had a sense of justice. The only point at which he spoke was after Margaret's latest outburst, which broke the shackles imposed on his soldier's mouth by many long nights trying to learn etiquette from his more refined wife: the earl spat on the ground and darkly muttered "You'd deserve it, ya French hag," under his breath.

Edward just laughed at the Queen. She tried to have him assassinated, and now she wants respect. He leans over to the nobles. I want to get back to London soon to talk to Parliament, but before we go.... what shall we do with our new friend?

His guards bring him another surprise guest, the Duke of Bourbon.

Well now, my friends! Well now! We got another guest! Duke of Bourbon, so wonderful that you could join us! Have you met this lady here called Queen Margaret? Edward could not hold back his sarcasm at this point.

On the matter of the Queen, Cambridge continues to make no secret of his disdain. "She tried to murder you under a flag of parley, Your Grace, and now she has failed to tell us anything we didn't already know - of bloody course the Red traitors would flee to either the country that sheltered them in the first place or to their allies in the North with their tails between their legs after the drubbing we just gave them at Wallingford, any of us could have figured that out. She has helped bring war and all the calamities associated with it down upon our heads twice now, and consorted with foreign powers to do harm unto your loyal English subjects. And another thing..."

The uncouth young Earl glanced briefly at the Courtenays before fixing his scowl back on Margaret. "We all saw the banners of lords who once knelt to thee and swore they had forsaken their allegiance to the Lancastrian line among her army: of these, only those of...Courtenay, was it? Only they rejoined us. Those holding sympathy for the Red Rose in their hearts could still be out there, we weren't able to kill all of them at Wallingford after all. If we imprison their Queen, they would surely plot to release her and return her to her husband and son in France or Scotland or wherever the hell they are now, from where she could trouble us further. In my opinion, my King, you should take no chances and just relieve her of her head - I, at least, can think of no reason to let her live, and a million reasons to do the precise opposite. She's given us no reason to think she'd hesitate if this situation were reversed, anyway."

Upon seeing the Duke of Bourbon, Cambridge glared and growled. This Frenchman must have been one of Margaret's lieutenants at Wallingford.

"Let her stay in the tower. When the enemy is dishonourable, we should show chivalry and courtesy. Let her contemplate her fate behind prison bars."
    Kent added, sternly.

    ---

Bourbon smiles drily as he is greeted by Edward, but nonetheless bows in respect.
"I do know her indeed, Your Grace, for she is the cousin of my liege, King Louis. But on another matter, I have come voluntarily to discuss the terms of my force's surrender and return to France."

The Queen stared just into a corner, ignoring all others, even the death threats of Cambridge, she was sure this would be her funeral, nothing can save her now. It was all over, here she stood captured and in chains surrounded by those who hate her and want her death, but whatever dignity she still has she would not lose it. If she had only stayed if France and never be married off to England she would not be here.

Edward begins to open his mouth to make a decision on the fate of the Queen, but then Percy arrives to see him. He waves him forth and smiles.

Gentlemen, sorry I didn't inform you all, it was only known by a few. Our friend Percy here has joined our ranks before this battle was started and I am presuming your plan went well friend. As you can see, I was just about to decide the fate of the witch Queen. Tell me, what would you like to see done with her?
