In the case of a Russian faction conquering Hungary, the title should be still knyaz.
On a side note, quite a lot of Germans settled in Scandinavia during the Middle Ages![]()

If you want to play a historical mod in the medieval setting the best are:
Stainless Steel Historical Improvement Project and Broken Crescent.
Recently, Tsardoms and TGC look also very good. Read my opinions on the other mods here.

Reviews of the mods (all made in 2018): SSHIP, Wrath of the Norsemen, Broken Crescent.
Follow home rules for playing a game without exploiting the M2TW engine deficiencies.
Hints for Medieval 2 moders: forts, merchants, AT-NGB bug, trade fleets.
Thrones of Britannia: review, opinion on the battles, ideas for modding. Shieldwall is promising!
Dominant strategy in Rome2, Attila, ToB and Troy: “Sniping groups of armies”. Still there, alas!
I guess for now you can keep the initial name until we find out. It might take a while to find all settlements' names for each culture (if possible)

Yes, but if Svir@c is ready to assist, then I wouldn't mind if he delves into this subject.
so: Krone Danmark ?
Ortodox names: for some provinces the titles will indeed be Greek (like Chersonesos), but for the other Knayz ... skyi.
BTW -I'm I've already used your files to make some work on the crowns for Britain, Italy and Spain. I'd be very grateful if you could do the same with France and Northern Africa and also with Egypt (up to Ascalon).

mmm ok it is a pity...but for romans(byzantines), no is more correct the tittle of dux or strategos of...than knyaz of...(this is more for russians)Originally Posted by j.a.luna View Post

The problem is there're are only catholic, orthodox and muslim titles in the game. So they have to use one of them, I think they use orthodox ones, but I haven't checked it.
Britanin, Italy, Spain - great! we'll make use of it down the road. I hope you've checked the map accrodingly so that "no province is left behind" ;-)
When you begin for iberian peninsula tittles i will have the correct tittles hehe![]()

I guess the best title would be "*country*s krone" If you wanna use "crown of *country*".
Hold on a second. I take France if you don't mind
Also, it seems that there are several old Norse words for king: buðlungr (also used for prince), fylkir, gramr, jǫfurr, lofðungr, þengill and as already mentioned konungr. I also found that king of the English can be translated in old Norse by Engla konungr. The old Norse was spoken at least until the 13th century. Some sources say even until the 1st half of the 14th century. All in all, for Denmark, what about Danmǫrk konungr![]()

For Denmark, the correct term would be Danakonungr (Dane-king).
Thanks Mate. That was my feeling but I couldn't find the translation in old Norse for Danes![]()

Also, the correct term for the king of Norway would be Noregskonungr.
I found that Norrœn could fit for Norwegian![]()

Norrœn most often means "Norse" or "Northern".
So in that case and if I get it right, we can reasonably use the following titles:
- King of Norway: Noregskonungr
- King of Denmark: Danakonungr
- King of Scandinavia (admitting the player has conquered Norway, Sweden and Denmark): Norrœnkonungr
Is that correct?
Question: should we include Finland for the last title?
