I want to give a shout out to the Complete Sicilian Unit Roster mod for inspiring a lot of the units in the tier 1 roster(and a little bit of the tier 2s as well.) It's a Medieval 2 mod from a few years ago. Unfortunately their mod isn't actually complete so the name is slightly misleading but it was still very useful. Check out their mod here:

They look amazing warman!! I was wondering, will Sicily have a Norman styled unit as well (with duckbill helmets and such)?

And to answer your question hessam, a quote from the screenshots and videos thread by warman:

Of note the banners each side would have was very specific, the classes between each side were lopsided too. Lower classes tended to be more Ghibelline while Geulphs were richer. Little adjustments to the emblems and heraldry were also a thing. So I took that all in mind when creating those units. Both party's units can be recruited by you in battle as Sicily. On the campaign depending you side with diplomatically will determine who's units you get better access to. Also I was thinking of having the two parties be a trait with it's advantages and disadvantages. Like if you have a general who's pro Ghibelline and you have some Geulph units in your army composition it might effect your armies morale and integrity.

What kind of shields do the Ghibelline Spearman have? I don't think I've seen examples of those before? Also will Sicily be one of the few, if the only, factions with both Christian and Muslim units, or will we see some more in the other Italian states? Will there be Muslim infantry or any more units like that for Sicily too?

The ghibelline spearmen has a type of shield called a tavolacci. It's kind of a sibling shield to the pavise shield and like the pavise there's many shapes of them. Regarding the Muslim units they are exclusive to Sicily's tier 1 roster. The King of Sicily at the time, Fredrick was very progressive in this regard and admired the Saracen's use of the bow and supplemented his armies with these guys. The two units seen are the only units planned. Sicily itself is very much a melting pot faction. The stipendarii are a German unit, there's the Muslim units, the Guelph have a French flair to their shields and equipment given their loyalty to the Pope and his French support. You guys saw the two separate noble units. This will continue into their high and late units with the French inspired Naples units and the Aragonese inspired Sicily units.

Will they break eventually? Will the player be able to choose French Naples or Aragonese Sicily Proper!? Let's say Palermo!?

I'm still thinking about how to address the Sicilian Vespers scenario, but i'm thinking emergent possibilities aside depending on who you lean toward will lead to certain units being more available than others. And you gotta balance it cause both sides bring units to the roster that are useful to you.

Much better yes? Also I have a sneak peek of the tier 3 units including a mercenary banner I'm sure some will recognize.

Banner looks good. I just hope that they will have wave animations at some point, then they will be perfect .

I guess the unit are Guelph spearmen? They look very good that's for sure!

That's all guys. I might do some more mercenary type units later on that'll be given to multiple factions like that Targonieri unit. I also might do a couple Naples units but idk if that's needed this time.
