Information Thread for Potential New Estalian Units

Estalians are a hardy people, and claim to be the first humans to have settled the Old World, although this claim is not taken seriously outside Estalia. Those within the cities make their living with fishing and trade. Estalians take great offence to being confused with Tileans, and it is said they will slay any man who mistakenly addresses them in the Tilean language. Estalia is renowned for its Diestros, skilled duellists who ply their trade across the Old World.

    Cults of Estalia
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Cult of Morr
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Mortiara = ”The King of Larhgoz, Vidar, seventh of his name, had the reputation of a butcher and consorter with fell powers, for with him rode the Mortiara - that forbidden sect of Morr, outcast from their church for their nightmarish heresy.” They also chant, apparently.

War Altar of Morr = "These are small portable altars carried onto the battlefield and guarded by units of religious fanatics. War altars usually contain or incorporate holy relics."

    Cult of Myrmidia
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Myrmidia is not really a god of the Empire, but has become commonly worshipped by soldiers of the Empire. Myrmidia has it's seat of power in Estalia but Tilea is also devout towards this goddess, so I’d assume these units could be shared with those factions. It is easily the largest organised cult in the Old World, she is the Goddess of War. The Cult has very limited influence in the Empire.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Myrmidia

War Altar of Myrmidia = "These are small portable altars carried onto the battlefield and guarded by units of religious fanatics. War altars usually contain or incorporate holy relics."
https://i.imgur.com/JjFA4G4.png Warhammer 3rd Edition Armies Book

Warriors of Myrmidia = I thought each should get a cultist unit, I’ve no information on what common cultists of this religion would be like.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...midia#Cultists

Shieldmaidens of Myrmidia = ”The command structure is also central to her teachings, but there are several legends where the Goddess or her Shieldmaidens chose to do what was right, not what they were ordered to. Because of this, although most Myrmidians stick rigidly to orders, they readily ignore them if it will result in a betrayal of their honour.”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Myrmidia

The Order of Fury = No further information available
The Blessed Order of True Insight = No further information available.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...#Lesser_Orders

Order of the Eagle = ”There, sharp-eyed priests run classes in strategy and warcraft, open to any who wish to attend. They also hold regular services for expatriate southerners (the specific day varies according to local customs, but is often every five days). These services—normally conducted in Classical, Estalian, or Tilean—are more interactive than most, with the priests actively encouraging others to get involved, asking questions of the congregation.”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Myrmidia

Knights of the Blazing Sun = “Throughout Estalia, countless villages, farms and isolated outposts owe their survival to the timely arrival (and subsequent assumption of command) by a Knight of the Blazing Sun. Since these knights spend a great deal of time away from their chapterhouses and temples, often embarking on crusades or quests for the glory of their Order, they would often travel in small groups of their fellows, sometimes alone, and lend support to whatever military endeavours is most needed for their aid, whether it is bolstering beleaguered units of soldiers on the battlefield, taking command of leaderless companies in the midst of a campaign, offering military advice to generals and nobles, or training local militia in the art of warfare. ”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...he_Blazing_Sun

Knights of the Verdant Field = “The knights spend a great deal of time training in rather unusual methods of warfare, unafraid to experiment with ploys, tactics, and equipment other Knightly Orders might overlook or find dishonourable. Many of these Knights are even well-trained archers, a result which lead to the formation of the Knights of the Verdant Field.”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...he_Blazing_Sun

Templars of Myrmidia = Listed on page 57 of the 3rd edition of Warhammer Tabletop. “These are the Templars, religious orders of knights.”
    https://www.scribd.com/doc/59162764/...sy-Armies-Book

Knights of the Righteous Spear = ”The Order of the Righteous Spear has several chapterhouses in the Empire, and although many chapters use different names, they are all part of the Righteous Spear order. Each chapter is typically tasked to protect one of the Eagle’s temples, although they also respond to honourable causes as and when they see fit. Because of this, the templars of the order are rarely seen outside of the area they protect.”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Myrmidia

Knights of Magritta = Since its establishment this academy has collected intelligence about Estalia and sent periodic reports to Luccini. In fact, the academy has many ties to Estalia, since it’s just across the border. Many caballeros have trained in Carcassonne and the Knights operate several mercenary bands in Estalia to support the academy.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Aquila_Academies
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...ts_of_Magritta

Myrmidia Perfecta = ”Most southerners who see the Imperial style of worship simply shrug, and ask what can you expect from such barbarous people? A few, the fanatics of Myrmidia Perfecta, see it as a gross insult to their Goddess. They regard the Imperial priests of Myrmidia as blasphemers, enemies of Myrmidia to be destroyed with all the skill and cunning at their disposal.”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...midia_Perfecta

Knights of the Merciless Titan = No further information available.
Knights of the Starry Shield = No further information available.
Knights of the Verdant Spear = No further information available.
Dismounted Knights of the Blazing Sun = Goes without saying, tbh
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/List_of_Knightly_Orders

Scourge of Myrmidia = Scourges of God are often highly charismatic, and gather other fanatics around them. In times of war, they are highly praised by the cult hierarchy, but when peace comes the priests prefer to move them along as quickly as possible, lest they find too many “enemies of God” within the towns of cities.

    Cult of Shallya
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
[SIZE=2]The Cult of Shallya is perhaps one of the most if not the most beloved and mutually respected religious Cult within the Old World. This is due in most part because Shallya, the sacred Goddess of Healing, Mercy, and Childbirth, is possibly the most beloved deity within the entire Pantheon. Many Old Worlders enter it at a temple of Shallya, or at least attended by one of the priestesses, and almost all need the services of the priestesses at some point in their lives. The refusal of the cult to become involved in politics has made it a popular target of charity from wealthy nobles and merchants, and the success of the priestesses in channelling that wealth to the needy is notable. Most temples of Shallya are simply decorated, with the money received going to the relief of pain, and those temples are everywhere, from the smallest village to the largest city.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Shallya

Order of the Tears of Piety = Nothing known.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Shallya

Plague Wardens = ”While Plague Wardens are violent zealots, they do believe they are acting to save people’s lives. Thus, they do not kill on mere suspicion of infection, and all groups of Plague Wardens include at least one person with diagnostic abilities.”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Plague_Wardens

Priestesses of Shallya = ”Priests wear white robes, often with a hood, with a heart embroidered over the left breast. On daily robes, this is embroidered in yellow, but most priests also have ceremonial robes, made of expensive fabric and with the heart embroidered in gold (Best quality).”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cult_of_Shallya

War Altar of Shallya = "These are small portable altars carried onto the battlefield and guarded by units of religious fanatics. War altars usually contain or incorporate holy relics."

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Aquilan Mercenaries = ”Since its establishment this academy has collected intelligence about Estalia and sent periodic reports to Luccini. In fact, the academy has many ties to Estalia, since it’s just across the border. Many caballeros have trained in Carcassonne and the Knights operate several mercenary bands in Estalia to support the academy.”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Aquila_Academies

Armoured Pikemen = Pikes are the infantry weapon of choice in Estalia. Twice as long as a normal spear and longer than a cavalryman's lance, the front of a unit of pikes is an impenetrable wall of steel.
    https://www.scribd.com/document/11346952/Dogs-of-War

Arquebusiers = These are a notorious mercenary company of arquebusiers recruited from Estalia from among the banditry
    https://i.imgur.com/QSBdao8.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

Bandits = ”With them mixed Tercio regiments of glaive- and crossbow-armed veterans, and with them all manner of bandit rabble, spurred on by the hunger in their bellies.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...V96TFBvQ1dNZGc Monstrous Arcanum

Cathayan Explorers = For the lucky few who meet success, the rewards are immense beyond imagination. The most successful generals return home as heroes, their ships stuffed to the gunnels with immense treasures, their journals filled with highly imaginative accoutns of new lands, exotic goods, outlandish tribes and their own heroic deeds during the journey. These would have taken the trip to Cathay and returned with weapons from those lands, as well as scars made by them.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Estalia
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Cathay

Crossbowmen = The bulk of the missile troops in a Dogs of War army are formed by crossbowmen from Tilea, Estalia and the Border Princes.
    https://www.scribd.com/document/11346952/Dogs-of-War

Deepwatch = It is made up of those too caught-up in the tales of adventure and glory to pay heed to the inherent dangers, or those too desperate to care. The Deepwatch are in essence a guild of professional adventurers, with groups dispatched into the tunnels beneath the city to keep them clear from monsters and stop any creatures from reaching the city. It’s a dangerous job, all right, but somebody has to do it.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Deepwatcher

Diestros = Estalia was renewed for its Diestros, skilled duellists who plied their trade across the Old World. If they are technically the same as the Duellists for Tilea, then there could be multiple variants of these.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Estalia
    https://www.scribd.com/document/11346952/Dogs-of-War

Diestros (Two Swords) = Small units of lightly armed skirmishers that are normally employed to protect the flanks of pike-armed units.

    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Estalia

    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Estalia

Diestros (Pistol) = Small units of lightly armed skirmishers that are normally employed to protect the flanks of pike-armed units. Could potentially rename it?
    https://www.scribd.com/document/11346952/Dogs-of-War
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Estalia

Estalian Snarler = A fierce breed of dog from Estalia.
    https://i.imgur.com/kEsWsD1.png White Dwarf 159

Hombres Villanos = These are fierce, aggressive, sword and buckler men, recruited from among the numerous cutthroats, bandits and renegades that inhabit the country.
    https://i.imgur.com/QSBdao8.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

Irrana Hill Fighters = Tough men that live in the Irrana mountains.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Estalia

Lustrian Explorers = For the lucky few who meet success, the rewards are immense beyond imagination. The most successful generals return home as heroes, their ships stuffed to the gunnels with immense treasures, their journals filled with highly imaginative accoutns of new lands, exotic goods, outlandish tribes and their own heroic deeds during the journey. Pikemen = Pikes are the infantry weapon of choice in Estalia. Twice as long as a normal spear and longer than a cavalryman's lance, the front of a unit of pikes is an impenetrable wall of steel. Pirazzo's Lost Legion came from Estalia, so it's a type of unit they use.
    https://www.scribd.com/document/11346952/Dogs-of-War

Sewer Watch = Emperor Mandred Skavenslayer organised the Sewer Watch in The Empire to protect the cities against future Skaven invasions. Since that time its standing and reputation has declined and today only the desperate and poor enlist in the Sewer Watch. Although this is an empire unit, it makes sense for Estalia due to its close proximity to the Blighted Marshes.

Southlands Explorers = For the lucky few who meet success, the rewards are immense beyond imagination. The most successful generals return home as heroes, their ships stuffed to the gunnels with immense treasures, their journals filled with highly imaginative accoutns of new lands, exotic goods, outlandish tribes and their own heroic deeds during the journey. Siege Train
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
"The only realistic solution to breaking massive fortifications is to employ a formidable siege train which includes siege engines of gigantic proportions capable of smashing down the strongest walls, gates and towers quickly. These machines are so huge that they cannot easily be constructed in the field. Instead, they must be manufactured in advance, often in pre-fabricated sections which can be transported in wagons, on ships, or stored until needed in fortresses."

The Giant Battering Ram = "The giant battering ram is cut from the tallest and strongest tree in the realm and shod with a massive iron or bronze head. The hides of a thousand beasts form its canopy, protecting the operators from the arrows of the defenders."
    https://i.imgur.com/SZ5PSHZ.png White Dwarf 155

The Great Cannon = "The great cannon is a cannon so big that the ruler will have to make special measures to get hold of enough metal to make it. All the bells in the realm or all the cannons of the fleet may have to be melted down to provide enough bronze to cast a single great cannon. It is so monstrous that hundreds of oxen are required to pull it."
    https://i.imgur.com/SZ5PSHZ.png White Dwarf 155

The Monstrous Stone Thrower = "This is a catapult operated by a massive counterweight which swings a long shaft and hurls a boulder a very great distance. The huge boulder will smash any ramparts that it strikes. The catapult is made of thick timbers to withstand the stress and strain, but the parts can be transported individually on wagons and are lashed togehter into a catapult in the siege lines."
    https://i.imgur.com/SZ5PSHZ.png White Dwarf 155

The Siege Tower = "Hundreds of wagons are required to carry the pre-fabricated timbers that make up the siege tower, and when these are put together the siege tower will be raised higher than any known wall. Bolt throwers shoot out of port holes on each of its many levels. A drawbridge or spiked corvus is ready on the top of the tower to be dropped on the enemy battlements allowing attackers to swarm across, constantly reinforced by a steam stream of soldiers."

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Water Elemental = Has a magical aura that protects it against weapons. They take the form of a wave or column of water, they can move across the earth but their home is the water. The Sea Elementals, living mountains of blue-black water that rear out of the water in the barely recognisable shape of a huge man, are perhaps some stage of this process.

    Special and Named Characters

Here is contained a full list of every possible Legendary Lord or Legendary Hero that I could find for Estalia, excluding those who are long dead. I have split them into whether they suit being Lords or Heroes, so it is easier to know which they are best suited to being added to, if someone wished to add them to the game. Without further ado, here we go.

    Larhgoz

Magical Weapons, Armour, Amulets, Scrolls and Other Items

This section deals in those magical items that can be used by this faction. This is by no means a full list, I doubt I'll ever get that, but it will provide modders with information if they wish to add new magical weapons, armour and items into the game to be used.

    Common Magic Items

If you follow the link below you will find dozens of magical items that are commonly found in the Old World (and beyond).

Freezing Death Spell Jewel = ”This jewel is carved of ice that never melts, and is freezing to the touch. When its power is invoked, it releases a lethal blast of icy shards at the Wizard’s foes.”
    https://i.imgur.com/WcvB14W.png White Dwarf Issue 187

Lifestone of Ashraaz = ”The Lifestone of Ashraaz is a jet black gem that is worn round the neck of its bearer. When invoked, a beam of light shoots out of the stone and bathes the bearer and his opponent in a pool of yellow light. When the light fades the bearer’s wounds have been magically transferred to his enemy.”
    https://i.imgur.com/O9IGyJF.png White Dwarf Issue 194

Power Stone of Le Marquis = ”Michel d’un Doigt was a powerful Bretonnian wizard who laboured long and hard to create a series of enchanted gem stones for use by the chivalric knights of that realm.”
    https://i.imgur.com/AGceWtm.png White Dwarf Issue 194

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Holy Relic = "In this age of superstition and religious fanaticism, holy objects are important part of life. Relics abound in the Old World; hairs of Sigmar, pieces from Ulric's hammer, teeth of Daemon Princes, all are sold to men needing encouragement before battle and charms against sorcery."

    Magic Standards
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Eagle Banner = ”Nearly four centuries ago, a Tilean (or Estallian) commander named Lisabetta held an outpost on the edge of the Border Princes against an Orc horde for 22 days. Supported by just 15 soldiers, they achieved the impossible. Legend holds that Lisabetta was a devout follower of Myrmidia and that, through her prayers, the banner she carried filled her allies with hope. The tragedy of this tale is that although they managed to rout the Orc enemies, they all later succumbed to the plague that had bloomed amongst the corpses of their dead.”

Blade of Last Resort = ”This sword has ever had a twisted sense of humour, seeking out overmatched heroes and aiding them against a chosen foe. https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Dodecahedron of Continental Drift = ”Said to have been left behind by the Old Ones, this peculiar object can be used to remake the world. Each alteration to the Dodecahedron’s external matrix is reflected on the land around the user. Its ill-considered use can easily prove catastrophic…”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Fozzrik’s Floating Fortress = ”Though Fozzrik’s magical aptitude led him to become a wizard, he never lost his love for architecture. Many of the Old World’s cities have been built around immaculate structures that Fozzrik created from stone and sorcery, but more prized by far are his floating fortresses - buildings that move under their own power and sprout defences to repel intruders.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Woodwaker’s Wand = ”Once upon a time, all the woods in the world were linked. Some say this great forest was alive, in a curious sort of way, and that every tree that now grows retains a portion of its vigour and intelligence just waiting to be revived.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Living Deadwood Staff = ”Arboreonecromancy is a little-practiced branch of wizardry - any mystic crazed enough to attempt it normally transfers his attentions back to raising zombies and skeletons, rather than undead trees. However, legends tell of the Archmage Sycamo, ‘The Daemon Carpenter of Estalia’, who not only perfected a method of reanimating trees from their residual elements, but also filling them with astounding vigour. Much of Sycamo’s work has, fortunately, been lost to the intervening aeons, but the Living Deadwood Staff never stays missing for long…”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Giantkin Helm = ”After constantly being told ‘We expect big things from you’ by his Elector Count father, Heinrich von Roth spent much of the family fortune commissioning an artefact that would help him achieve greatness. Alas, he was to learn that when dealing with wizards, precision of diction is just as important as largesse of payment.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Windcatcher Prism = ”This peculiar bauble was crafted long ago, its purpose very much tied to storms of magic. Once a particular Wind of Magic rises to a certain cataclysmic level, the Windcatcher Prism absorbs and rechannels a portion of its power, bestowing the bearer - and his immediate allies - with an avataric aspect of the ascendant Wind of Magic.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Paranoth’s Piquet Fence = ”Paranoth was a famous travelling mage, who trod every road ‘twixt Cathay and Naggarond. Naturally, only a particularly foolish wizard would journey such roads without defences, so Paranoth wove himself a sorcerous fence to defend his encampments whilst he and his companions slept.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Rockcharmer’s Flute = ”Androgast Gildheim was the first man in the Empire to master this granite flute, but its origins lie hidden in the mists of time. Some say that the Rockcharmer’s Flute was used to destroy the old Dwarfen realms, others that it sank the fabled realm of Seidon. However, the most popular tale concerns a drunken Halfling, the Rockcharmer’s Flute, a jug of lamp oil, a plate of sausages and the accidental creation of the Grey Mountains.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Wyssan’s Weighted Dice = ”This set of weighted dice is one amongst many forged by Arctovian Wyssan over the course of a long and (unsurprisingly) successful wagering career. At the bearer’s command, these skull-marked cubes play havoc with the laws of causality; turning certainty into bleak misfortune.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Arabyan Puzzlebox = ”This elegantly crafted container houses many hundreds of glittering gemstones, each with the power to harness the Winds of Magic if used in the correct manner. Alas, the user can never truly be sure that the compartment he has opened will contain the gems he needed.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Black Book of Ibn Naggazar = ”Ibn Naggazar was a brilliant, if somewhat maniacal, Arabyan sorcerer. Whilst it is unknown whether his madness sprang from isolation, too many attempts at creating intoxicating ‘elixirs’ or the honeyed promises of whispering Daemons, there can be no doubt that he was utterly insane. No rational wizard would create a book inked on the skin of his closest family, much less constantly follow its advice.”
